Hayes Family –
I’ve tried lots of bargain protein shakes. This is a winner! The quality of the protein is high! I struggle with whey products because they upset my stomach and found out that vegan protein is much better on my tummy! These taste good. They’re easy to make ahead and store and don’t have a chalky consistency! Highly recommend! Major bonus for low carb! But I wish the container was bigger!:)

I don’t ever write reviews but really wanted to pass along that this is the best protein powder I have ever tried. And I have tried many! It mixes perfectly in a Nutri Bullet. My favorite smoothie is 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk. 1 cup frozen wild blueberries, 1/2 to 1 whole frozen banana, and 1 scoop of Isopure Vanilla. It comes out thick, creamy, and delicious! I doubt I will ever use anything but Isopure.

I like the taste of peas so the pea flavor is not a deal breaker. But if you don’t like peas, you are not going to like this. The pea flavor is very distinct. So please be aware unflavored does NOT equal flavorless. And I don’t know how other users get this to blend well because no matter what I try its a hassle. I’ve tried other reviewers suggestions and they sure did not work for me. I’ve tried my bullet and then all it does is foam and froth and I end up with indigestion from all the bubbles. If I try to blend it with a hand blender I end up with clumps and I end up having to mix and stir with a fork. Every morning I use a protein supplement to increase my protein intake. I have to mix one scoop of this with 12 ounces of cold water and even then its so thick it almost gags me. Not at all close to the consistency of 1 scoop of Isopure’s whey protein in 8 ounces of water. Once I drink it I then have to add 8 ounces of water and run a scraper around in the cup to get the rest of it dissolved. I dread taking my protein supplement. Well that said, I’ve made it through 1 1/4 canisters because I’m cheap. I paid for the stuff and I’m going to use it…. but I’m not sure I can do it any longer. I can’t gag my way through any more of it. I think the rest of the canister is going into my compost bin. I can’t for the life of me figure out how this stuff has earned so many good reviews but I’m going to let users know there is certainly other opinions. Well wait the one thing it did work ok in was my recipe for protein pudding pops… 16 ounces of 1 % milk, 1 package fat free sugar free pudding mix, 2 scoops pea protein and 2 scoops whey protein (both isopure brand). freeze in those pudding pop makers you find on amazon. BUT the pops taste much better if you don’t use the pea protein though. the pea protein makes them gritty whereas the whey protein does not do that) but if you are trying to use the stuff up, like I was…

Esperaba que tuviera un mejor sabor pero sabe mucho a cartón. También, sà no se mete a la licuadora, difÃcilmente se le quitan los grumos.

This protein powder was my first one that isn’t whey protein and my first one since becoming vegetarian. I prefer unflavored protein as it gives me more control over what goes into my body (natural flavors…spices… Etc). This protein powder was everything I was looking for and was good for what it was. Here’s how I felt.
Flavor: it’s flavorless, so it’s going to have that “flavorless flavor” (sounds stupid, but you know exactly what I’m talking about). It’s bland, earthy, and griany in taste. If you’re a texture person be weary as it has a finly ground sandy like texture when mixed properly. I mixed mine with three different milks, oat milk by oatly (made me feel like I was licking dirt and depression off the floor), 2% lactose free Kroger brand milk (made this powder taste overly sweet somehow, but not in a good way, like the aftertaste when you take Pepto bismol) and Fair Life 2% milk (the least flavor altering). My favorite “base”, was hands down the Fair Life milk.
Mixing: this powder barely mixed with the oat milk and I quickly changed to cow milk. The two cow milks I tried mixed about the same, but be warned, when you mix it, add the milk into a blender cup first with the spring already in place, then add the power and mix immediately. No, don’t even stop to put the lid back on your protein powder container. Immediately put the blender cap on and start shaking or you will get clumpy chunkies that make you want to vomit popping up throughout consumption. I shake mine for about 5ish minutes and if I’m busy I hand it to my spouse to shake for me while I replace the protein powder cap.
For some reason shaking this protein powder with milk, makes the milk frothy. Not a deal breaker, but something to note if you’re a texture person like me. You will still feel a fine grainy texture when mixed fully. It gets on your lips and no matter how much you try to lick it off, it still feels like it it’s there.
Would I buy this again? Yes.
Would I recommend to a friend? Yes.
Will this be my first choice of protein powder? Not likely as I’ve found a brand that works better for me.
Hope this helped!

I have to say that the unflavored version does NOT taste very good. Even though it has no flavoring, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a particular taste, by itself.
HOWEVER, the vanilla or strawberry tastes delicious. It is very thick and ultra creamy (not grainy at all like many plant-based powders!). You may have problems mixing it with water in a shaker, but it blends very well in a blender or bullet blender. I strongly recommend adding just frozen strawberries and water … you will get a SUPER thick, smooth and sweet strawberry milkshake. It’s my favorite.
Also worth noting — this protein has a LOT of iron in it!!!! Which is great for vegans/vegetarians!!!
I also use this to make my own Warm Vanilla Spice protein bars, they are THE BOMB. Here’s my recipe:
1 1/2 c whole oats
2 scoops Vanilla Isopure protein powder
1/2 c almond butter or cashew butter
1/2 c dark maple syrup
dash of: salt, pumpkin pie spice
optional: raisins!
Mix together and form a flat square onto parchment paper. Chill and cut into bars. Makes about 8-10 bars.
