works well for marking position but prefer a string lifter for marking shape and size

Does just what a bridge template should. Includes good figures for string height, template to shape bridge and space strings. Love it.

This is a handy tool for my amateur attempts at luthier chores. We don’t have a luthier is town so this helps with my temporary fixes.
Real luthiers are a bargain at any price…to me.

You have to have a back groud in how yo use it

This gage has many possibly useful reference markings, but the finish is very easily damaged just in basic handling making it not very durable. Great care has to be considered in using this gage if you want it to last.

Good tool, but it is the wrong size, my fault. I needed a 1/2 size not 3/4. But I will have it ready for that next 3/4 violin project. Good cost, easy to use. Thanks. Kem. 10/21/24

Made me look like a pro. Made a “box fiddle” and if I learn to play it as well as I put it all together I may play half-way decently. But I’m not holding my breath. I really want to learn Jay Unger’s “Ashokan Farewell.”

It’s a good quality product but not quite as useful as I thought it would be. All measurements on it seem to be accurate. But it’s black which makes it hard to see and use on a black ebony fingerboard. It was useful for shaping the top of the bridge and spacing the strings on the bridge and I’m glad I got it for that reason. but it is harder to use on the ebony nut.
