Didn’t like that I had to reverse the polarity of the wires to get it to work.

I purchased this for several reasons: The first was that I moved my motorcycle without unplugging the charger, destroying my previous connector. The next was that this was about $4 or $5 dollars cheaper than the next priced one (so I’m cheap).
Clearly, I saw the warnings: THE POLARITY IS REVERSED. But I thought, hey, I’m technical. No big deal. I can change that.
1) With the one that I received, I had to use a vise to help unscrew the cover. So getting access inside the plug is not as easy as it sounds.
2) The current wires are soldered on, and while there are screws that you can use to resecure the wires, you will have to cut off the end of the existing wire to give yourself a bit more wire to work with… and that cuts off the plug that protects your wire from being overly flexed.
3) The screws won’t hold that wire there well at all, and realistically you stand a chance of shorting it out over time, so you will likely end up soldering it back. (Which means that I should have just resoldered it in the first place)
I was cheap and found out that it wasn’t worth the cost savings. Now that you read this, don’t be dumb and continue to buy it.
In short: Don’t buy this. Pay $5 buck more. Your time is worth more than.

No lo compren, no funciona, lo conencte en mi 850 para usar el battery tender, que uso actualemtne en otra motocileta y que se que si funciona y simplemente no funciono en la BMW, perdi el empaque ya mejor voy a ordenear otro de otro proveedor, mi recomendacion NO lo compren, no tiren su dinero

Polarity was reversed. You have to unscrew the cover (easy), unsolder the wires, and then use the attached connectors to reconnect the wire. The time to fix it was less then 10 minutes (my experience). If you are willing to “play” with it – I’d recommend to buy it.

As soon as I plugged it in it made a popping sound and smoke rose from it. Total junk, and because it was damaged (melted) when I returned it I was not given credit for it.

The polarity was reversed seems to be a common issue, thus the reason for 3 stars. Known issue should have been addressed by now.

The cable is well-made; unfortunately the circuits are reversed! As delivered, this cord WILL NOT work! After cutting and reversing the wires, then soldering and heatshrinking the circuits, my BMW motorcycle is happily charging.
