The trombone adapter, designed to fit a small bore mouthpiece into a large bore trombone, suited my Conn 88H 1969 shank receiver perfectly. I was prepared to return it, holding onto the bag and everything, but after checking the tuning, I found it to be satisfactory.

Whoever came up with this idea is a genius. My son plays trumpet but was gifted a Euphonium. He was also gifted a great mouthpiece but it didn’t fit in his large bore. This adapter works perfectly.

Works just as shown, I have not ran into any serious tuning issues ( the most you would have to do is just tweak the tuning slide a little). Nice fit, Great utility!!

Using an adapter to play small shank mouthpieces on a large bore trombone is an all around bad idea.
While technically it works, and this product is well machined enough to prevent air leaks, tuning is completely thrown off due to the added length.
You are also fundamentally changing the sound you can get out of a large bore trombone by forcing air through the smaller mouthpiece shank.
While maybe this is good to keep on hand in case of a bizarre emergency where you forget your mouthpiece and need to borrow a small shank version that doesn’t fit, it has no practical use. Just buy the right mouthpiece instead. High quality (enough) standard sizes (5G, 6-1/2, 12C) can be found for less than $50.

I have been looking for a large to small shank adapter for my B. Euphonium to no luck. This works perfectly for small to large but not vice versa.
