LEONLITE Classic Series 7 Inch LED Hardscape Lights

These are VERY well made. Solid. Will be a pleasure to install.
I purchased these AND the 7″ LED lights. The 7″ are VERY bright – they subjectively look like they’re more than double the brightness of these.
I bought both ‘sizes’ to see if the 7″ would help illuminate the long walkway from our driveway to the house
The attached photo is of the main walkway. This section has 14 LED lights – two of which needed replacement and the old LED style is no long available. I need 3 more “uphill” of the photo area and I’ll install 7-8 further downhill from the front door.
The LEDs will be glued (silicone) to the bottom of the handrail, just like our old ones.
These are infinitely better then the ones I installed about 15 years ago 🙂 (no surprise)

I was hoping that the 7″ units would spread out the light a bit more – that was silly of me.
I was told these aren’t dimmable. I wish they were. Then I’d probably buy twice as many and put them at every main baluster instead of every-other.

These lights worked well and easy to install and wire to existing low voltage lights. Installed under the overhang of the deck and shine down on the flower bed.

It’s quite expensive LED considering it lasts only one season after which it gets much darker and turns to a different color (from 5000K daylight it becomes purple). I noticed only after I installed the remaining ones this year – they were all fading similarly so it was hard to notice earlier, but next to each other it’s very clear. I checked the voltage, wires and connections and to make sure I connected one directly to the transformer with no improvement. When I bought these I wasn’t expecting quick replacement as it’s quite difficult considering how they’re mounted.

They deserve one star because the light technically still works, but it’s a quite different one than expected and initially received.

They were easy to install. They look like great quality. Really good brightness. Time will tell how long they last. I installed them maybe 3 months ago. 8 was the perfect amount of lights for my front steps area.

My dad has asked for these several times. He loves the way they light up our retention wall around our pool. They give off just enough light to make the ground visible, but not enough light to keep anyone up. All around a great look and great value

I’m a picky shopper and I decided to purchase 3 different brands of lights for my steps. It’s not a good practice to mention (inferior) competitors products by name. Although, for the sake of steering people away from IMO a lower quality light, it is tempting. With that said, I will be happy to speak about these lights by comparison. These lights are extremely well built with water tight connections. By this I mean that the low voltage wire that enters the light fixture is completely sealed. It’s a completely watertight unit that is attached with two very heavy duty SS screws and detachable from the stainless steel/aluminum mounting bracket . It’s a great feature for long term consideration should you need to replace the light itself. Believe me that once you get these babies mortared in between or underneath a sheet of stone, it’ll be a chore to remove an-all in one-fixture entirely. It’s not even a feasible task in general without having to break concrete which costs a lot more than anything you’ll save buying an LED fixture without a replaceable light. One of the other two I purchase (at $50/light which I am returning) is made of solid brass. However, I was shocked to discover there is no water “proofing” around the LED assembly and the brass housing. It’s overkill to pay for expensive brass for “form” and poor lighting/IP rating for functionality. Less than an IP65 rating implies that you can anticipate moisture penetration right around the time the warranty expires. This particular brand boasts that their light is replaceable (it’s simply a bulb). I like this feature as you can purchase this universal size bulb from any vendor and choose the “lumens” to meet your application. However, again, the light socket/assembly feels very low quality and has no insulation from the elements. The other light (which I’m keeping along with the Leonlite) operates with a swivel design. It was less than $90 for a pack of 6 and in general appeared to be also a well made light. The light bar is spread out with multiple LED’s and a frosted cover which makes the light very even and also diffuses it well. The Leonlite on the other hand has two LED’s spaced about 3/4″ apart. They are integrated into the light assembly and there is no (diffuser/light cover) which, somewhat counterintuitively, might seem to be a short cut. Much the contrary, this light’s two LED’s are hermetically sealed, almost as if they were molded into a cast of epoxy and then shrouded on all sides with an aluminum casing. All I can say, as if I haven’t said enough, is that I am a shrewd consumer, an engineer by trade, and mechanical things must meet certain specs. to pass the muster. We don’t make much of this stuff in the USA (my preference when available) anymore. However, products need to be evaluated independently, irrespective of their country of origin, based upon the company and people that stand behind them. I’d put my money on this product to last for 5+ years easily. As I always say, don’t shop price, shop quality or you’ll be shopping twice for something you really only need to buy once.
