I’m not sure where to begin. It arrived totally cracked and busted up covered in reddish brown dust. Heavily used. It literally looks like it’s been used for a decade. I was curious to see if it even worked so I turned it on and it spewed more ancient dust everywhere. It’s also clearly a different/older model than the one I ordered but that feels frivolous to even write about at this point. Yikes.

This couldn’t have arrived at a better time. The temperature here spiked from the mid-60s to 90 degrees pretty much overnight, and it remained there for several days (typical unpredictable New England weather). The AC in our son’s bedroom died the end of last summer, so we moved our old, smaller one into his bedroom and put this in our room. I figured we couldn’t go wrong with an LG since we own several of their products and are very happy with them. The install was super easy, and that’s coming from a very novice installer. My husband helped me lift it up, but I was able to do the rest. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. At 8,000 BTUs, this is a lot more powerful than our old one, and it started cooling down right away. We have a good sized room that contains a walkway to our master bath. I don’t know the exact square footage, but this could easily accommodate a much larger area. On a really hot day it could take upwards of an hour to get the temperature down just a few degrees with our old unit. I was shocked when I returned TEN MINUTES LATER and it had already dropped three degrees! This is also very quiet compared to our old one. I haven’t used the app yet, but I’ve looked at the features and can definitely see us using it (it dropped back into the 60s right now). I don’t know if we’ll use the scheduling mode since the weather fluctuates so much here, but I can see it being helpful to those who live where it’s consistently hot. I am looking forward to being able to turn it on/off remotely and check on the temperature. We had looked at a few ACs prior to ordering this and it seems to be comparable in price to others in the same size range. We haven’t run into any issues and are very happy with this so far.

I got this air conditioner to use in a room that is set off from the main living area of the house and only occasionally used. We have shut off the vents to this room from our central air system, because we see no reason to be cooling and heating that room all the time. But I live where it gets very hot, so I wanted a window unit that we could run just when the room was in use. This unit is working perfectly for our needs. It cools the room without running excessively long periods of time. I didn’t install it myself because it’s too heavy for me, but the person who did install it didn’t have any problems. It comes with a remote or the ability to connect it with WIFI controls. I haven’t bothered with the WIFI since it is only occasionally used. I can see the benefits of being able to do that if used in the main part of the house. I have no complaints with this unit for the limited amount of time it is being used.

I have always enjoyed LG products so I jumped on the opportunity to order this product with the hot weather that we know is coming.
To start, assembling this unit is so easy, and the instructions are thoroughly detailed and easy to understand. There is plenty of hardware and extra brackets for multiple installation options and includes plenty of foam to go into the window frame. Total setup time from unpacking to functioning was less than 30 minutes.
It only took about 10 minutes of running to cool down to temperature and this unit covers way more than 350 sq ft – we live in a 1000’ sq ft apartment and this unit cools the entire downstairs within minutes. The fan at its highest speed is a little louder than our previous 5000 btu model but it is not loud enough to be bothersome.
The remote is handy but the real bonus is the WiFi. Once you setup the app on your device, connecting is a breeze and we can turn the unit on from outside the house on our way home from work, walking into a nice cool house.
Overall, this is a great product from a reputable brand and I would recommend this over other models in a heartbeat.
