These strings are wonderful, they are smooth to the touch, then with ease, and last forever. They’re a little heavier than most but their functionality is wonderful the tone makes it well worth the money. Try these strings on your acoustic and you will never put anything but Martin 2.0 strings on your guitar again!

I was a little worried when my new expensive Martin was not as easy to play as I imagined, but I had been playing a Stratocaster and was not used to an acoustic.
It came with “light” strings but the E string was a 12. I bought these “Extra Light” with a 10 E string and it’s all the difference in the world. While I had not played the Martin much with the 12, the 10 still sounds superb, especially now that I don’t have to bear down on each fret.
It might take awhile to build up the strength in my fingers before I could go back the 12, if ever, as I have no complaints about how it sounds now.
Someone said they had to adjust the neck after switching strings like this, but mine passed the .008 feeler gauge fret test and there is no buzzing on any string. (Capo the 1st fret, hold down the low E on the 12th fret, and use the gauge to check the string clearance in the middle.) It feels like this Martin should have come from the factory with 10. I know electric guitars need heavier than normal gauge strings for that ZZ Top sound, but for acoustic this suits me just fine.

I love 80/20 strings for their lively, clear sound, preferring them over phosphor bronzes, which last a little longer, but are more midrangey in character. Folks also say the “harmonic content” of PBs is “more complex,” but I actually feel 80/20s have more overtonal stuff going on. Whatever the case, 80/20s do have notably a shorter “fresh” life than PBs, even though I am not one of those folks with especially acidic hand sweat, but I’ve never worried about it because standard Martin 80/20s are pretty cheap.
Anyway, I recently up and bought a new, Martin-style dreadnought after primarily playing electric for years (a total acoustic renaissance is happening in my house!), and I thought I’d treat the new baby with a special set of 80/20s after hacking off the Diaddario PBs the guitar came with. I chose these, though I love Diaddarios for my electrics and use them nearly exclusively and have for years. They make great strings as well. I typically use Martin’s for my acoustics, though.
To the point, though: I must say these sound phenomenal, and after playing them A LOT for about three or four days—which is when untreated 80/20s start to lose their zing for me—they sound like I put them on two minutes ago. I have always steered clear of treated strings, but am impressed by and excited about these. They feel good and hold tune wonderfully. I like the zing of a fresh set of strings, especially for a big ol’ dread, though others prefer a more broken in tone.
The set I have are 12s, as my days of effortlessly (and cluelessly) fingering the hell out of 13s on a long scale acoustic are gone, and they have a lot of body, zing, and ringing tone. Feel-wise they are about the same as regular Martin 80/20s, with the same tension and texture, so those claiming a softer feel might be a little too enamored by the concept of these, which is fine.
The important thing is these strings seem to hold that fresh tone considerably longer. Not sure how long, but they haven’t dwindled even a tad yet, am already glad I gave these a try, despite their expensiveness relative to what I usually use. I just ordered a backup set, in fact.
These strings are great. They also look mighty handsome—all new-looking despite having hours of play—on my spanking new dread
Hope this helps.

Top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich bin tatsächlich über die Strings beim Instrumentenhersteller gelandet. Kann diese Saiten für die Akustikgitarre nur empfehlen, immer einen Versuch wert.
