I got this for my office, for which I have exactly 2 uses. Sorry, I know, I have a microwave in here too and that’s what I normally use for tea. Ignore this comment if you wish, I understand. Even with this in here now I still mostly use the microwave. I just have the time down, it’s too convenient a system for me.
I will boil water to make ramen packets, and I have to heat water to 105 degrees for a nasal cleaning every day. That’s it, really, so this means I’m jumping between the two opposite sides of the temperature spectrum on this thing every day. So I’ve got some experience with it now.
So far, it’s reliably heating to 105, haven’t burnt my nose up yet, so that’s good. My ramen has gotten cooked each time too, so boiling is great. The knob will jump numbers faster and faster the more you turn it, which means I can now jump between the two temps with just one turn!
Now here’s where it gets weird though, and I have to mark it down for this. It can hold the temperature, a normal thing that our other electric tea kettle does, and it will by default hold it for 2 hours. However, it can’t hold it if it’s boiling. You have to bring it down from 212 to at least 205 I believe. Our other kettle does this fine, so I’m not sure if this is a safety feature or something, but yeah, it won’t hold boiling water, so I have to be there when it’s done.
I’m rather lucky that this doesn’t affect me as much, but normal ‘non-microwaving’ tea drinkers may take this as a problem, which is a shame because I really like everything else about this thing.

This is a bare-bones water hot pot that has features that could be pluses or minuses depending on your point of view:

Each time you start the water heating, you set the desired temp. This is more flexible than units with 3 or 5 pre-determined temperature settings. But it requires choosing the temperature each time. Many units have a 5° temperature increment, this is 1°.

I haven’t calibrated the water temperature readout. However, it definitely overdrive the heat / has delayed temperature readout. For example, if I request 205°, as it ramps, the temp readout says 190°, but you can see the water is already beginning to boil. Given time, the temp readout does catch up and come to a steady state below boiling. For heating water, I don’t think this is a big deal, you shouldn’t expect high tech PID heater controls in a cheap pot like this. I would have problems with it at a higher price point.

Oddly, the user instructions seem to be written for another unit. While it seems to properly describe operation of the temp setting function it also refers to a safety switch that needs to be clocked to enable the heater (like many cheap induction pots have), but is not present on this model.

The gooseneck works well for pour-over coffee preparation.

    Edit after some time:

I’ve decreased my rating by one star. There are several flaws that are new or have gotten worse over time:

    1) The temperature control bothers me more and more. I’d really like a pot that goes from room temp to boil as fast as possible. This goes to a rolling boil during heat up, but then drops and slows as it waits for the temperature to slowly catch up. The pot should boil water fast.
    2) The set point doesn’t reset if you remove the pot early because it is already boiling. When you put the pot back, it tries to continue the heat cycle. This is crazy. Every pot I’ve ever used resets when you lift it from the base.
    3) The handle looks odd, but is very comfortable to lift and pour, with excellent control.
    4) Like many pots, the “max fill” line is directly under the handle. I fill with bottled water leaving the pot on the base. Which means I have to rotate the pot with the handle away to fill, and then rotate back so I can pick it up after boiling. If you fill from a tap, not as big a deal because you can pour off excess water. As I said, this is very common for these kinds of pots, but I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to put the max fill lines directly under the handle where they are hard to see when holding the handle!
    5) Overflow is interesting: most pots I’ve used had an internal drain so that they can’t be over-filled. This one doesn’t. But when you fill this pot, you also fill the goose-neck. And so if you overfill, water can be expelled through the goose-neck while boiling. This actually happened once when I over-filled the pot! While I like the lack of an internal drain, this is a definite safety flaw.
    6) The pot will not hold even for a minute at boil. Once it hits boil it turns off and the temp drops. I don’t multi-task well, and so I often have to re-boil the pot when I’m not paying attention. I wish it would hold boil for 30 sec or 1 min or whatever.

The teapot is simple to operate, just add water, dial in the temperature and turn it on. The spout is great as you can add water exactly where you want it.

**Efficient and Stylish: Nafuhare Electric Gooseneck Kettle Review**

I recently added the Nafuhare Electric Gooseneck Kettle to my kitchen arsenal and have been quite pleased with its performance. It works wonderfully, boasting a sleek design that fits nicely on my countertop and lives up to all its promises. The precise ±1℉ temperature control is a standout feature, allowing for the perfect temperature setting for pour-over tea and coffee, which enhances the flavor extraction significantly compared to regular kettles. The rapid 1200W heating element brings water to temperature quickly, and the LCD display makes it easy to monitor. Despite its excellent functionality for brewing tea, I find myself still favoring my clear glass kettle for everyday water boiling due to habit and visual appeal.

Although it’s ideally suited for tea enthusiasts rather than those just looking to boil water, the Nafuhare Kettle’s stylish appearance and efficient performance make it a valuable addition for anyone who appreciates the craft of fine tea or coffee. The automatic shut-off feature adds a layer of safety and convenience, reinforcing my satisfaction with this purchase.
