I bought this light as my original aquarium light died and the replacemnet balast was extremely expensive. This light fits perfectly on my tank. The controls are easy to use and my fish are much happier with the intensity. Bought a second one for another aquarium!

Quite the bang for the buck. The timer isn’t that bad to set up but I would say it’s the least likeable thing about this. I have some soft corals and macroalgae in my tank that have utterly blossomed under this thing. They say it isn’t sealed but I have dropped mine into the tank twice with no ill effects. Doesn’t mean you should try though. Bright, and well suited for my 20gal Peninsula tank. Honestly, no real complaints!

I initially bought this as a backup for my reef tank when I had a Fluval light. However, I later bought an AI Hydra 32HD and no longer needed this. I did end up setting up a freshwater tank and decided to use this. My plants love it and it is fairly bright and customizable for the price. You can control both the white and blue channels individually in 5% intervals and can customize the ramp up and ramp down time in intervals of 30 minutes. You can only select one ramp up and two ramp downs, with one being made for blue light night time viewing. Despite this, it is still an exceptional light and even my red cryptocorynes have become a deep shade of red, even without a dedicated red channel. I definitely recommend!

Homo Russus – Life’s Vision –
So this is a great light as far as functionality. I allows you to set a timer, the I intensity of the LED on different channels and even has a sunrise and sunset option. However, if you loose power, the time is reset. In my recent experience, the other configurations were not lost. Not sure why time needs reset but the rest of my configuration was good.
This has great configuration options. It’s pretty customizable for the price. Make sure you read the short instructions ahead of time so you understand the codes and the button presses.
The white LED is not exactly a high white. The white alone without the blue is really ugly. I always have the blue on with the white. I actually lower the white intensity a little to about 50% to give the tank a little more blue throughout the day. I did notice the white channel has some green spectrum mixed in which might cause this.
The white and blue are on different channels so you can have a timer for the white and a separate timer for the blue with different intensities.
My favorite part is the sun up and sun down uptown. There is a setting to turn on the lights fully, or use the sunrise-sunset option. Sunrise and sunset each are hardest to 15 minutes.
My setup turns on white at 50% intensity and blue at 100% intensity late morning. The white fades off early evening for an all blue moonlight and then a couple hours later, the blue fades off to night.
I would buy again at this price. I would also request the manufacturer to put brighter white LEDs for a better white color.

My first saltwater tank and I chose this light since I have six other Nicrew lights I absolutely love. This thing is fantastically bright with white and blue spectrums. The controller allows me to control the amount of light, ramp up/down times, separate channel controls, timers, etc. I haven’t had it long and really haven’t used it other than plugging in to check it out so I can’t say how well it works long-term or with corals. Tank is still not ready for light just yet. But it does look great and easy to use.

I replaced the old florescent lighting in a nanocube with this. It works very well, programming and sunset functions and moonlight are awesome. I was able to take the guts out of my old hood and fit this right under the hood. Less money than buying replacement bulbs all the time too.

The brightness was good (sunrise/sunset) features are easy to setup. Good for starter, the price was fair enough. Not sure how long it will last (just started using it – i’ll update if i see something interesting). I would like to give this product a 5 star, BUT the glass was broken when I unboxed it (pics attached). I believe it was during the delivery. So over all I will rate this porduct and the shipping 4 Stars… happy with the purchased even thought it was broken…

I purchased this because my local aquarium store referred me to this brand. I needed to replace an old light and decided it was time to toss it. I’m glad that I did! As soon as I hit the switch I said “WOW”! Lol because it’s SUPER BRIGHT. Even on the blue setting its Smurf bright blue. Im afraid that my dog wont be able to sleep hahaha! But you can adjust it. I just love the way it looks. Very sleek! Way thinner than my last light. I have a glass cover and it sits directly on top of it. You can hardly tell that its there. I haven’t tested the controller yet, but Im sure its great. Loving all the settings. I have a 30″ for reference.

I have a 72 Gallon Bowfront aquarium. It’s 4 feet wide and the 1 light seems to light it up very nice although I’d be really happy with two.
The timer functions can be a little tricky at first but after setting them it’s a really nice light.
I did get it on a flash sale for $10 cheaper so I’m happy with that price point.
