The one thing to note is that one of the holes was a tiny bit small, but I was able to hollow it out by running the metal piece through it a couple times. Super easy and works great!

I installed this in my 2007 Honda Civic EX Coupe had no trouble at all…some people have commented that the holes for the spring pin were a bit small….I just put a tiny screw driver in the holes to widen them…I kind of wish I had waited to do that because after I widen the holes I felt there was too much play…but needless to say the latch works GREAT!! SO GLAD I DONT HAVE MY CONSOLE LID SITTING UP ANYMORE

About a month ago my center console popped back up after I used this to fix it. I never planned to write a review, but was disappointed this product broke before 1 year of using it to replace the broken OEM product.

All 8 gen civics go through this problem and its so annoying to be driving and once you move your elbow the freaken armrest goes up, or I’ve seen ppl that just give up and drive with it open. lol
its very easy to replace, I suggest opening your armrest first to find out the problem first because I just assumed I needed this part so i ordered it, then when I received it I went and opened it and realized that something else had broken off.
I still kept the piece because my mother in law has the same car with the same problem and I just installed it in her car. Yes the holes are a little smaller so I just made them a little bigger for the pin to go in.
