Pawfly Aquarium Corner Sponge Filter For Fish Tanks Description
- Multi-layer Fine Sponge: Provide mechanical and biological filtration and trap debris or wastes without sucking up your fish. Keep fish tanks crystal clear and healthy.
- Further Cleaning: The gravels inside absorb excess damaging substances and release trace elements. And the ceramic rings can cultivate beneficial substances. Always keep water fresh.
- For 50 Gal Tanks: Measure 3.1″ R x 6″ H. Fit for 20-50 gallon fish tanks. You can change the sponge sequence at will and customize the filter materials according to the breeding density of the fish.
- Quiet Aeration: Air powered and cause no disturbance to your daily life. The wide duck-billed air outlet port brings more bubbles to promote oxygen circulation.
- Easy to Clean: The filter can be easily detached for cleaning. Rinse the sponges every 2 to 4 weeks with aquarium water ONLY. Avoid soaking or washing them in tap water! Replace the white sponge every 2-3 months!

This comes with the filter media, which is convenient – once it arrives just hook it up to the air pump and it’s ready to go. The added weight of the filter media allows it to stay in place better than sponge filters.

Only thing I really have to complain about is that I wish is was heavier! It wants to float but I just surround it with rocks

In a way it’s better than a filter sponge, you can use the already included media but I like it because ease of cleaning it.

I bought a 20 gallon tank and have 2 filters and it keeps it super clean for about a month! It’s so nice! Totally recommend

Things I like:
– You can add your own media so I replaced the gravel with more ceramic balls.
– Love that it sits on the corner and out of the way. Once I add more plants it will completely out of sight but for now is not too vivible so that works for me.
– Good air flow.
What I don’t like but adapted to it:
– When you first put the filter in the tank, it will float. Now, I put it in tank water for a little while in the hopes the air would get out before I placed it in the tank… well, it didn’t get all the air out so keeping it in place took using some rocks placed on top to keep it down. The next morning the rocks were off and the filter didn’t move anymore. It would be nice if the filter came with some suction cups as an option to use while the air gets out. But, now it sits perfectly well on the corner. I am sure I’ll deal with the buoyancy again when I clean it but, oh well. 🙂
Overall, very happy with the purchase and recommend.
**UPDATE: I cleaned the filter and I noticed only the bottom compartment was filtering the water. Somehow the middle compartment was clean as new while the bottom one had a lot of build up. Unsure why that is but it appears the air does not go through the middle compartment.

I like the multiple layers of different size sponges and ceramic & gravel filter media at the bottom. I wasn’t sure if the flow would be efficient enough for my needs, but it is. Filter & aeration in one. My water is crystal clear, at the moment at least. Hope it stays that way.

The suction is so week , on advertisement says for 5 to 10 gallons tank but this size maybe works for 2 or 3 gallons not bigger than that.

Product works great, but it came in with a piece of the cap broken; it appears to be just cosmetic damage and seems to be working fine, but it is damages all the same.

This filter was bought for our crab tank. It does the job. However, the replacable filter sponges are very low quality. They did not last long. It is easy to take apart to clean and replace the mediums. The size is perfect for the 10 gallon tank we have. It is hard to keep down in the tank. Even after filled with water there still seems to be some bouncy issues with it. Air seems to get trapped in it as well and it starts to sputter. The suction seems weak.

Don’t forget to rinse out any dust or plastic chips before putting in your tank!
Very good filter tho 👌

It’s great for my corner-shaped 6 gallon. I took off one star because companies need to stop advertising everything “nano” sized as being appropriate or ideal for betta fish, because that is untrue. Small tanks are great for shrimp and snails.

These filters are EXTREMELY thin. I purchased 6 pieces for a 10 gal tank and even using all the filters together wasn’t enough for the filter case. Very disappointed.
