I’m a lover of Penn Rods and Reels and have been using them for years. You may think a Penn is expensive but one of my go to Penn rod and reels, that has seen hundreds of hours in salt water, is almost 20 years old and is still going strong. My wife used my battle 4000 and loved it so much she asked for one. When I saw this one in pink, for her of course, I had to get it for her. Can’t wait to get it in the water and make some good memories.

rod arrived broken and no reel. 7 ft box was half open and crushed in the middle .suppose to be a combo. so double disappointed as it is a xmas gift for my wife. had to go back and make sure to read description in case i made a mistake before posting and yes suppose to be combo. hopefully enough time for replacement.

You would think they would stick the rod in a cardboard tube for protection. It’s no secret that carrier employees are going to just toss your package carelessly. Every line guide was bent I every direction. Sloppy-thoughtless packaging.

I had the 4000 modle for years and broke the rod on a huge striper. I had put an ugly stick on it but it never was perfect for me after that. I decided to upgrade to the 6000 med heavy and am so glad I did! It’s the perfect weight/ length for basic saltwater fishing. The reel is nice and smooth. Definitely recommended for a smaller woman like myself!

I love this pole my husband bought for me but the tip was broken, luckily he was able to fix it but it should be boxed more carefully being it wasn’t a cheap price.

So far it is my 2nd favorite surf fishing rod. It is not as sensitive as I would like so it is hard to tell when you have a bite. I started having issues casting on my last trip so I need to make some adjustments. andwill post an update later
