As an electrician, I’m always looking for ways to streamline my work and save time on installations. The WAGO 221 Lever-Nuts compact splicing wire connectors have been a game-changer for me. This assortment pack comes with 78 pieces in a compact case, making it easy to keep everything organized and accessible.

The Lever-Nuts connectors are incredibly easy to use – simply insert the wires and push down the lever to create a secure connection. The connectors have a compact design, which makes them ideal for tight spaces, and the transparent housing allows you to see if the connection is secure.

One of the great things about these connectors is their versatility. They work with a wide range of wire gauges and types, including solid, stranded, and flexible wires. Plus, they’re rated for up to 600 volts and can handle currents of up to 20 amps, making them suitable for a variety of applications.

I’ve used these connectors on several projects, and I’ve been impressed with their reliability and performance. They create a solid, secure connection that doesn’t loosen over time, and they’re much faster to install than traditional wire nuts. Overall, I would highly recommend the WAGO 221 Lever-Nuts compact splicing wire connectors to any electrician looking to streamline their work and improve their installations. I give them a rating of 9 out of 10.

I bought these wago 221 lever nuts to replace some old wire nuts in my basement. I was impressed by how easy and fast they were to use. They are much more secure and reliable than the traditional wire nuts, and they can handle different types and sizes of wires without any problem. They also save a lot of space in the junction box, and they are reusable if you need to change something later. I highly recommend these wago 221 lever nuts to anyone who needs to do some electrical work. They are worth every penny!

Where were these a decade ago? A friend told me about this new concept instead of marrettes so I went searching and found these. They are made in Germany and are CSA approved for Canada. No more crowding in the electrical box. They lay flat and fit in the box so much better than round marrettes. There are other brands but I would only use the authentic WAGO ones.

Been researching these things for a couple of years and finally decided to try them. I’m NOT disappointed! Just ensure the STRIPPED LENGTH is approx 1/2″ (11 millimeters per the Mfr.), the wire surface is CLEAN AND BRIGHT (i.e., scrub the copper with a piece of Scotch Brite) and the wire end is “fairly straight”. Tightly “twist” STRANDED wire ends before inserting to prevent unwanted “whiskering” (i.e., loose strands). Ensure the wire is FULLY INSERTED (i.e., the wire “tip” is FLUSH against the rear of the Wago!), then flip the lever so it’s PARALLEL with the body (i.e., horizontal) to lock-down the wire.

After locking, give the wire a gentle tug to ensure it’s secure.

I just used these things to replace a couple of (I surmise) 62 (SIXTY-TWO!) year old wire nuts on my bathroom Vanity Light. The “hardest parts” of the adventure were “unthreading” the twisted wires going to the nuts, trimming the stripped ends to length (they were “random” lengths!) and cleaning the copper with a piece of “Scotch Brite” pad. After that, it was “plug and flip” the ends into the Wagos, stuffing things back into the electrical box, and remounting the light. All things worked PERFECTLY after that.

I expect a Long “service Life” from the Wagos as the wires will never be “disturbed”.

Unless things Radically “Go South” in the upcoming months, I ** DO RECOMMEND ** these critters for necessary “rewire” jobs.

This is a nice kit with various sizes of lever nuts. Makes wire connections so much easier. That said, I’d seriously doubt if these are as secure or robust as a properly twisted wire and a wire nut. Then again, I’m not an electrician so what do I know. But so far so good. I did notice that if you’re cramming a bunch of wires in a box, it’s possible to inadvertently pop open a lever by mistake. That’s not good, so I wrap electrical tape around the lever nut just before stuffing them in a box.

I was tired of using wire nuts. These electrical connectors worked great. very easy to use. It jumps from 3 terminals to 5. I’d kind of like some 4 terminal connectors, but they worked as advertised.

I have been replacing lots of old fluorescent tubes in my church with LED tubes. These require minor wiring changes. The existing fixtures were installed over perhaps 40 years, and all of them have different internal wiring including mixtures of stranded and solid wires. I have been changing the fixture wiring in place, rather than taking down the fixtures, rewiring and rehanging, so this involves manipulating the wires from awkward positions on a ladder.

It is much easier to use these connectors than the wire nuts I started with. They work particularly well in joining the stranded wire sometimes found in the fixtures with the much thicker solid wire used in the building wiring.

And you can inspect the joins easily after installation is complete, something that is much more difficult with the wire nuts.

They are expensive compared with the wire nuts, but I can do more work before getting tired and having to quit for the day, so its probably worth it.
