Ich hatte vorher immer Schälchen mit Futter (Mehlwürmer, Körner, Rosinen, geölte Haferflocken und Meisenknödel) auf das Fensterbrett gestellt = solange das Wetter trocken und nicht windig ist geht das einigermassen.
Jetzt bei diesen Regengüssen wollte ich etwas besseres (die Mehlwürmer hat es mir da vorher einfach weggeschwemmt und randvolle überschwemmte Schalen finden die Vögel auch nicht so toll und die geölten Haferflocken sind nach einer Weile nur noch Pampe) und dieses Haus hier ist eine gute Lösung!
Das Futter wird je nach Regenstärke trotzdem nass, aber das Wasser läuft super nach unten über die Löchlein ab, nichts überschwemmt oder geht verloren und selbst die geölten Haferflocken – wenn man sie in eine hintere Ecke verteilt werden nicht matschig.
Die zwei Fächer sind ausreichend = einmal Mehlwürmer, einmal der Rest und es vermengt sich nicht so sehr, ebenso geht durch den erhöhten Rand kaum was verloren im Eifer des Gefechts.
Ich habe wenig verstreutes rumliegen und alles bleibt recht sauber und hygienisch (ich will auch keinen meckernden Nachbarn).
Wir haben es nicht über die Saugnäpfe befestigt, sondern mit Kabelbindern = einmal am Fensterladenhalter und einmal am Drahtgitter vor dem Fenster (das ist am Rahmen und nicht am Fenster befestigt, ist für die Katze wegen lüftens), hält super und so komme ich von unten an die hinteren Öffnungen um bequem Futter nachzufüllen.
Das Schälchen vorne kann ich trotzdem rausziehen und den Rest auch zwischendurch einfach mit der Giesskanne reinigen.
Es sieht gut aus, die Vögel haben es schnell kapiert und angenommen, genügend Platz fürs Futter, Wasser läuft gut ab, durchs Dach sind die Vögel auch etwas besser gegen Regen geschützt, Größe und Preis sind sehr gut.
Die Vögel und wir sind sehr zufrieden und haben eine gute Lösung für’s Fensterbrett gefunden.

We get lots of entertainment from this. It’s outside the window to my office at home. I work from home so I spend a lot of time staring out the window. We have some clever squirrels (that I don’t mind feeding) and fun little birds. I worried the squirrels might pull it down since it’s just held up by suction cups but as you can see, it hasn’t budged even with Steve the Squirrel hanging by a foot. (I named it because like I said I spend a lot of time looking out that window)
***Pro tip: if your neighborhood birds haven’t discovered your feeder yet, sprinkle some seed around it to draw them in. I had expected a flock of them to visit five minutes after I put it up.

Birds love it. Suction cups are STRONG—lasting 2 months now through strong wind, rain, hail and 100 degree heat. A definite great purchase.

I live on the second floor and this feeder is working great. I can’t access the window from the outside, but I can reach out through the window to remove the tray.
The suction cups are holding on strong. Make sure you clean the window first, and soaking the suction cups in hot water helps.
