I love watching the birds on the outside waiting for their chance to get a turn on the inside. It is a busy place

We were worried that the birds wouldn’t adapt to a new feeder. But we were wrong. They soon found it and we have watched up to eight birds at one time land on and use this feeder – sparrows, goldfinches, finches, grosbeaks and even a downy woodpecker. It’s easy to fill and the small openings discourage large birds like pigeons and grackles from being visitors. It’s made out of metal and is very sturdy – we have had it blown off its branch without any damage. It does hold a lot of seed but the birds have been very busy emptying it.
If you’re looking for a good feeder, we would definitely recommend this one.

I found this feeder to be of decent quality for the price. Where it shines is the design which is really unique and gives the birds something to do. They hop through the holes and feed from the inside enabling other birds to feed from the outside. It tends to be one of our more active feeders. The mesh itself is pretty sturdy, but we have had some squirrels that have chewed on a couple of spots, so it is not squirrel proof. Refilling is easy enough. All in all a solid addition to my assortment of feeders!

The feeder arrived quickly and in good shape. It is well made and my birds love it. I filled it and hung it up and within 2 hours the birds were hopping in and out of the feeder. Love this feeder because it holds a variety of bird food.

squirrels cant raid it as easily dipue to its unique open sided construction. Easy to fill and fun to watch.

I love this feeder. I am slowly replacing my other nfeeders to this style.
We have lots of sparrows and other little birds (chickadees, occasional red polls etc). I love my sparrows, they’re happy and chirpy all winter but lets face it- sparrows are pigs. They toss seed all over the ground they are so wasteful and none of the birds have an opportunity to eat. I love this feeder because the sparrows have spend some time getting the seeds out and the other birds don’t seem to have a problem getting the seeds out. Also its pretty cute when the squirrel sits in the square hole but even better that its not easy for him either, to stuff his face and run off with all the seeds.

I bought this feeder to feed the wild lovebirds in my area. It took a couple of weeks for them to find it. I’m so happy they finally did. This feeder holds a lot of black oil sunflower seeds. Sturdy design. Great feeder!

The feeders arrived damaged (bent wires on both bird feeders) but we managed to make do and sort of bend them back into place. Not sure if this happened when they were manufactured or in shipping. When they were shipped , they were in a box with a tiny amount of bubble packing โฆ so I think they knocked around against eachother during shipping . Highly recommend that they ship them with more care . So I knocked a star off .
The finches love them, just know you can only use large seed such as black oil sunflower (thatโs why we got it anyways) .. small birds like finches and chickadees, titmice can easily access this feeder. The cardinals still to this day wonโt land on it , they only eat the seed that has fallen on the ground . This is fine , because big bully birds were hogging all the seed from the little guys.
We did have to make a safety adjustment before putting the feeders out for the birds. Thereโs flat metal framing around the square and circular *window* type openings . And from the inside , thereโs a sort of โlipโ that they create and I can 100% see how little bird toes and feed could slide under .. get caught , and then they could hurt themselves .
So we tore and rolled paper towels sections and took butter knives to shove the paper towel under the lips of the feeders to prevent injuries . The feeders hang on our porch , so we arenโt worried about rain/water getting the paper towel gross. So for this safety hazard I knocked another star off .
We did have a hanging plant near one of the feeders at one point and a squirrel was able to use the hanging plant to jump onto this feeder . Their teeth chew right through the wire. I saw the squirrel swinging and hanging on the feeder .. I went out to the front porch and saw a big wire segment just sticking straight out (could have hurt a bird) โฆ so we bent it back inwards and slide the wire down, took our hanging plant down that was next to the feeder on the porch and havenโt had a squirrel issue since. I wonโt take off a star for that because squirrels can damage a lot of things and it was our fault for giving them easily access to the feeder – just wanted to explain as these feeders are absolutely not squirrel proof if you have a squirrel problem .

It arrived broken but we fixed it with wire. Birds love it and so do we. It is attractive and a fun way to watch the birds find new ways to get the seed.

I have had this feeder for well over 12 years and have now just bought this second one to add to my gardens. These feeders are an incredible value for the dollar. They stand up to years and years of squirrels nibbling away at them, harsh winters and everything else. The birds love them.
The open mesh design all around from top to bottom ensures very little opportunity for any seeds to rot or mold to develop. I cannot recommend this feeder enough. It’s tough, decorative with a very useful design and incredible longevity.
Do not waste your money on other sunflower feeders.

Very nice looking and birds love it. The package they sent in in was so big and it arrived with a dent in it. Just kept it as too much bother to return it.

I had bought this exact bird feeder at a local store 6yrs. Ago. I hit the shepherds hook one to many times and snapped the wire holding the top on. I use this for the Black birds at the back of my yard so they leave the other feeders alone. And I only use black oil sunflower seeds in it. It keeps the black birds busy all day long. They like cracked corn also but I was having large bucks coming at all hours of the day to eat and destroy my flowers so black oil seeds are back on the menu. It is a very sturdy feeder and if it goes on sale again I will probably buy another one for back up. The other birds eat from it also but they have other feeders to use. For the people that put their feeders in trees and get mad that they get destroyed … The trees are squirrels and raccoons homes, it will get destroyed eventually no matter the feeder. Get a shepherds hook and a little Vaseline at the bottom keeps the critters from climbing.
