We bought this for our upstairs bathroom door – the bathroom where the cats have their food bowl and litter box. One of our dogs adores snacking on kitty crunchies, so not only were the kitties occasionally facing an empty kibble bowl, the dog was getting fat from all those unauthorized snacks. We couldn’t keep the door shut all the time (see “litter box” above).
The cats got used to it in about three heartbeats: husband placed each cat in turn on the outside of the bathroom, I called them and offered a Greenie from the inside, and they each walked in to get the treat, and that was that.
Installing this was very easy – the template provided was perfect, and the kitty-shaped cover went on like a breeze. No problems at all with the device itself, none at all.
The PROBLEM: the kitty’s entry/exit-hole is juuuust large enough that one of my dogs can sneak in by getting down on his belly and scooting his way through. Frankly it’s hilarious to see him doing the old Army crawl to get to me (he really doesn’t care for the cat food in there, he just wants me to rub his ears while I’m in there trying to do my business) but…I’d rather he not.
So…measure your canine fur kids – and not just their standing-up height – carefully if your goal is to keep your dogs out of the kitty/human space!

My husband installed it and very much liked that the frame was large and could hide that his cutting wasn’t perfect. The cat started using it immediately and everyone who comes over comments on how cute it is. Perfect way to keep the litter in the laundry room without having to keep the door open!

This thing is so cute! Looks big but once its in place its perfect. We have an extra bedroom & installed this cat door on that door. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out since our doors are not flat but have the indents. My husband just placed it in the center & it worked out just fine. Not sure why the title says its a PetSafe Cat Corridor & ScoopFree Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box Bundle because its not. Its just the cat door. Gave 4 stars only because it was a little spendy.

I have a door that is central to lots of traffic so leaving it open for the cats was very annoying. Cutting out the door was easy enough and took about 10 minutes. If you have the right tools this shouldn’t be hard to install. I wish I found this sooner as I didn’t want one that is in the middle of the door and square.
