My cat immediately understood how this kibble-dispensing ball worked (after I had spent several days training her on other kibble-dispensing toys) and went to it, entertaining both herself and me. The ball is effective and seems to be durable and well made (though, on the latter points, I’ve only just started using it). I like that the opening size for the kibble to come out is adjustable and that the size setting locks in place using plastic tab built into the product.
I bought the three-pack of these balls, not having paid attention to the measurements in the product description. Other kibble-dispensing products I’ve bought have been much smaller than this one, so I just assumed having multiple balls would be best. It turns out that one ball would have been sufficient given its large size; you could fit an entire day’s worth of kibble into this ball. Now I have backups, should the one we’re currently using fail.
I’m very happy with this purchase, and I would recommend the product to others who are trying to slow their cat’s eating while also building some activity and play into the feeding process.

I use the Petsafe catfood balls to entertain the two brother cats. They are not overweight, but need something to do with their time! I use the expensive Orijen Tundra cat food as treats instead of buying the usual cat treats that are overpriced and are not good cat food. My vet says that the treat balls with good cat food “enrich” the cats’ environment. Sounds good to me!

Wish they would make some kind of snap together track, I personally put these in a large plastic bin, to keep crumbs and such contained. Cat jumps in, can play with it, eat, then he can jump out. Still wishing for a track about 6 to 8 inch wide and around 2 feet long edges 2 inch high, and can buy connectors so it can make a huge circle around the exterior of a room, or one long track down for down a hallway, Still wishing for slim cat to make something like this. I also feel it would help these wonderful balls sell as that is the largest complaint is food crumbs all over the place unless you get a large short bin like I have.
I have used these for around 15 years. Our cat had an over eating problem, after getting these, it was completely fixed. With these feeders, it fits most sized dry cat food (at least we haven’t found any that was too large) Different opening sizes for type of food or how active your cat is. These helped with our first cat who lived to 19 years, indoor but healthy weight. Now we use for our new additions of kitties.
These are great if going on a trip as you know that the cat will only eat when hungry since it is work to get the food. So instead of a cat binging on the first day, throwing it up and then having no food on the second day, you can feel safe. Also, I have tried automatic feeders, I have had hiccups with them, and just worry if I am not there to supervise it. So these are now my go to food dispensers. Much cheaper than automatic ones and for me I feel more secure with these.

The food I buy (Hill’s urinary/hairball) fits easily through the larger holes. Almost too easily! I’m going to try blocking one or two of the holes to slow my little food monger down lol.

These are great. I have a cat that inhales her dry kibble and then promptly throws it up. With these, it ensures she slows down her eating, chews her food, and gets exercise rolling the ball. She would rather get her kibble from the ball than from the bowl as her sisters do. Highly recommend!

One of my cats gorged on his dry food, then barfed it up a few minutes later—almost every morning. What fun… So, I tried one of these, thinking they’d not only slow his eating down a bit, but provide a measure of “enrichment” as well (a good thing for housebound felines according to my vet). It totally worked! Only one barf in the last couple months, and it raised his activity levels by making him work a bit for his food. I’d recommend… It’s a bit of trial and error to get it dialed in (a few days max) to dispense at the rate you desire, but once you get it figured out it’s pretty straightforward. My smartest cat simply needed me to roll it a few times to demonstrate how it worked before he took a few swipes of his own and got it rolling. The others learned by watching him. I ordered one for each cat so nobody is left out! 😉
