Great backpacking headlamp! Like the swivel head allowing me to direct light where I need it. Super lightweight, red beam is just enough to see but not annoy others

I’m writing this from the standpoint of expectation vs results. This headlamp met and exceeded my expectation. I originally purchased one at REI. Since the pandemic, I got one for my wife from here.
Light has 3 levels and a red/flasher option. Bright is too bright since it attracts bugs, low is perfect.
Battery life exceeded my expectations. Usb charging ability is a huge plus. I had my original light for about a year.
It’s comfortable and stays in place when you adjust it. Quality product.

Format mini mais suffisante pour le trail, le bricolage, la promenade des chiens.

I bought these lights to work in a small area when taking measurements, they weight nothing almost and work forever on a single charge. someone with a big head or small head can easily adjust it to fit or wear it with a cap or not.

A friend recommended it. I’m happy with it.

Love this headlight! I use it to walk the dog at night and it’s super bright. I also love that I can tilt the light up and out of the way when I run into someone and need to chat. It’s super easy to charge and is comfortable and lightweight on my head for long periods of time.
I’d definitely buy again.

I got this for backcountry camping and it’s fantastic. The lightest headlamp I’ve found (a fraction of the weight of the headlamp it’s replacing).
Plenty bright if needed but I successfully use it most on its dimmest setting and I can see well enough so set up camp, cook, ect. I think the middle setting is best for if I’m still hiking on the dark but I do wish it had a setting about 50 lumens.
I was concerned about the shock cord and its overall ability to stay on my head but it performs well. With a hat on I totally forgot I was even wearing it, but even with no hat on it is light enough to not slide around on your head. The shock cord does have a little elasticity to it which helps.
Overall I love this headlamp! I haven’t done long trips with it to see how long the battery lasts but it still has enough battery life for what I need it for!

I have a fetish for Zipka flashlights, I’ve bought more than I can count. They are slightly thicker, too bulky for my daily carry.
I know this because I love them so they should go in my pocket along with certain other items. But no.
I bought this because it’s smaller.
It is smaller, but the stupid headband doesn’t disappear. It feels like a nest in my pocket. So I’m not carrying this either.
The critical dimension for pocket carry is thickness. Zipkas have the battery behind the electronics and bulb and so are too thick. Petzel should make a version with the bulb and electronics to the side of the batteries so that it is the thickness of a AAA battery with the zipka headband retractor behind it. This is not that.
Long-haired family members don’t like Zipkas, but then again, they don’t carry flashlights.
The photos shows the size difference. I include my earplugs, which I DO carry every day to show the RIGHT thickness. It may seem picky, but if it makes such a big difference to me, it might make a small difference to you.
Excellent quality. Can lock in the off position, an essential feature. Highest quality. Still waiting for the perfect pocket carry headlight.
4 stars.

I like to keep my pack weight as low as possible, so seeing that this headlamp uses shock cord for the head strap I felt that this was a great low-weight option. I like that it is micro-USB rechargeable since I am already carrying a battery a micro-USB cable out into the back-country. I like the dimness of the low-light setting since it is bright enough to get around camp but not so bright as to blind people. At that low-light setting which I use for 99%, I am getting amazing battery life. I went on a 9-day trip and the lamp still shows that I have lots of battery left. Granted I do not leave the lamp on for hours each night…but knowing that it will last longer on a charge than the duration of my trips is good enough for me. The head strap may not look comfortable, but it’s totally fine. The only “gripe” I have is that I wish there was a way to prevent accidental turn-on. Most headlamps I own allow you to button lock it, but this one relies on flipping the headlamp back so that the button is physically protected from being pushed. Although this sounds great, I dont think this is a better solution than having a button that you need to press for more than 6-seconds to lock/unlock the light. I’ve never experienced an issue with this type of mechanical lock-out method, but I feel it is a design weakness.

I love this light! My husband bought me one a year ago & my running buddy liked it so much, I bought him one, too. It’s extremely light weight, so when I wear it around my hat, I can’t feel it. Traditional headlamps, especially the ones with batteries, can be very heavy & would push my hat down. If you don’t want to wear it around your head, you can wear it around your neck. This headlamp is rechargeable, so no need to change the batteries. It also has four light settings, blinking, standard, bright & super bright. Highly recommend.
