Installation facile et sans le disque contenant les drivers. Reconnu sans aucune difficulté. Ouverture facile le plateau n’est pas plus ni moins souple que sur d’autres marques. Description sur Amazon un peu léger on ne sais pas s’il est adapté au M-disk et il l’est. Peu bruyant par rapport à mon ancien ASUS. Grave et lit sans problème. Pour moins à part son prix un peu élever par rapport à un Blu-ray, je suis satisfait. A voir dans le temps. Lecture CD d’enfer, qualité au dessus de la normale je suis surpris, super!!!!

I’ve used this brand for 20 years and never had a problem. They work well, never let me down and have a long longevity. I just bought two more for my 2024 desktop build and they are working great. I use to buy the Asus DVD drives but they are turning into crap now-a-days so spent a little more but got so much more in return. Highly recommend.

This PLEXTOR DRIVE lives up to the PLEXTOR name that I am familiar with from buying a lot of their AMAZING, LONG LASTING and very reliable products back in England UK. I recommend anything and everything by this brand, they are one of the few “long term” brands that never went downhill.
This DVDRW drive is burning my DVD (standard, not duel layer, have not tried duel layer yet) without any issues .. i am using SONY DVDs and they were failing on my external pioneer bd-xl to record properly …. however pioneer tend to work great when directly inside a machine .. I found most optical drives are useless when relying on any USB connection.
So plextor DVD drive is fast, quiet, works great, reads everything I put in to it and records to anything I have tried including VERBATIM DVD+R which is usually the only brand of disk I would purchase, but I ran out of them during my 5 years backup of LIFE WORK ( music, video I make – soon to release an album mid 2023 ) and tons of other things I backup that i invent and create …… I had some SONY DVD-r left over so I finished using them.
windows 10 gives me the options to BURN UP TO 16x SPEED but I always use 4x… I find then that the disks can be read on older machines without issues …. and on all of my devices… not just laptops and desktop computers.

It was around three minutes between the time I opened the computer case to the start of burning the first disc. The driver was installed automatically. So far, no problems reading or writing CDs and DVDs. I hope it lasts as long as my previous burner (a different brand), which lasted about eleven years. At the time of this writing, I’ve had the drive five weeks and I’ve burned about ten discs.

This isn’t quite the same Plextor drive that used to be the industry leader, but it is worth the very low current price. It will perform better than whatever OEM drive you’re replacing. I’m on my third of this particular model and the failure point is the eject mechanism on the CD tray. Eventually, it will stop ejecting on the first attempt. If this could be fixed I would give it 5 stars.

First time Plextor buyer. I’ve use other brands like LG and Asus, but I think this Plextor is a better drive. First thing I noticed is it’s very quiet. I bought a new desktop computer, but it only has a slimline tray burner drive, and is not motorized. It will automatically eject, but you have to manually close it. I do a lot of dvd burning. The software I use to burn, needs to cycle the tray after burning to verify the burn. This drive does exactly that. I installed it in a Vantec USB3.0 external enclosure (purchased here on Amazon), and have no problems with Windows 10 recognizing the drive, or any issues with reading or writing discs. I did see reviews that said NOT to use the disk for the software that ships with this drive, so I didn’t. I already had Imgburn installed anyway. Didn’t need the CD burner XP softwear either. If needed, I would purchas this drive again.

I bought this drive to put into a 3.5″ external enclosure to allow my music server (Linux) to autorip CD’s and DVD’s. I only had one complication – I had to use a USB-A 2.0 (printer) cable) for the device to be recognized. For some reason I couldn’t get the computer to recognize it with a USB 3.x cable. Whether that was a function of the device, the enclosure, or my server I don’t know, but with the cheaper/slower/dumber cable it worked like a charm. Even with USB 2.0 the bandwidth is more than adequate for ripping CD/DVD’s.
