It’s made out of really flimsy plastic. I’d say it would take about two good whacks with a hammer to knock this off of my bike or just crack it open and the air tag fall out. Or one wrong look from your ex wife, you know the one with webbed feet. I don’t use thing under a water bottle cage but I still don’t see how it wouldn’t be totally obvious what it is. Just like her webbed feet. I can’t imagine it would pose much deterrence to a thief able to defeat even the simplest of u locks. I have seen them made out of carbon fiber, that seems like a better option. Or somehow attack a picture of her webbed feet to the bike and then no one will want it. Genius!

The airtag holder is a bit bulkier on-bike than I was expecting, but it does the job of attaching it to my bike. It’s not necessarily “hidden” like they advertise, but with a waterbottle in the cage, it’s not the first thing your eyes are drawn to. It is nice that they provide security bolts for an extra level of protection though. I did test the weatherproof claim by running it under water briefly, and it does let a few drops in since there is no rubber gasket, but since the airtag can handle a bit of water, this shouldn’t be an issue in any normal wet riding.

I bought my daughter a nice new bike for Christmas. We live in a nice neighborhood, but I wanted to be sure we could protect it. She rides to school, and the bikes are all left on the bike rack all day.
Install was straightforward, and everything needed was included. I did use the included bolts, as the water bottle bolts that came with our bike were too short. These are only slightly longer, but long enough to do the job.
This tool provides a simple solution to give peace of mind. We use the bike as its intended, and we know if anything happens, we can easily track it down. Because of the design of the bike, it is a bit of a snug fit as seen in the photos. But it works, and that is all that matters.

This didn’t work for me because instead of AirTags I have the Eufy Smarttrack Link devices. Because of the squared off shape, I had assumed those would fit in here, but they do not. I presume they will fit AirTags, but since those are round I wonder why this was not designed to be round. Anyway, whatever I guess.
I don’t know why these come with a tool. I suppose that’s nice but seems wasteful because IMO anyone who cares enough about their bike to track it probably has bike tools. But my main thought is that these should come in a 2-pack for the price.

I grabbed this and placed one on my outdoor trash bin after unfortunately having previous ones stolen from my home. It works well, was easy to install, is not noticeable if strategically placed and have not noticed any sort of water entering the box. It seems pretty sturdy.

As a person who had this kind of Apple AirTag mount on a bike that was stolen and later found, I can attest that installing an AirTag on your bike is essential if you own an iPhone that can track it (AirTags don’t work with Android). I like this particular mount because it is installed underneath the water bottle cage and is a bit more hidden than, for instance, the bicycle bell AirTag holders which are easily found and taken off the bike by a thief. Also, this mount is screwed in with a special screw head that can only be removed with the provided tool. A standard Allen wrench cannot remove it.
This mount says it’s weatherproof, but since there is no rubber gasket between the 2 plastic pieces, I wonder if it’ll leak when I’m riding through puddles or in the rain, but at the moment, I have no proof that it’s not weatherproof.

I have an expensive E-bike and although I have a great lock for it I’m always worried it will be stolen. This little mount gives me some relief. I like that it is concealed under the water bottle holder where most thieves would not be aware of it. At least giving me long enough to track it down. The tracker sits inside the plastic holder and is then mounted under the water bottle holder with the provided screws.
