Have used these now for past 2 years. Since it’s to hard to find my other favorite Royal Purple filters for my applications and price increase. These are long life filters. I use with Mobil 1 extended life oil which is a 20k mile oil. But since I only put around 12k a year I just change my oil and filter 1 time per year. Have been doing long life changes for over 10 years and have never had any sludge or build up on the motors of my 4 cars. All 4 were brand new and all still run great. I wouldn’t do this unless I was using a premium filter like the Purolator Boss Filter

I have been a Purolator filter user since the 1980s. My 1994 F250 now has over 230k miles. You tell me if a little extra for a filter is worth it. I buy online in advance to always have my filters ready at 10k. Cheaper than the corner auto stores, and most don’t carry Purolator anyway.

This is the best oil filter made, and will protect your engine in the long run.

The Purolator Boss is impressive and the highest quality filter I have used or cut open. Most of the construction is what you would expect from a high quality filter, but it separates itself in the filter material itself. The filter paper has almost a cloth quality to it, unlike many who use cardboard like material, and it had some type of mesh backer to that filter material. This material was super tough to cut into with a razor blade and looks to be built to last a long time in your engine. The pictures are from a 5.7 Hemi and a little over 3,000 miles on the filter, which is way under its rating (I just like doing 3,000 oil changes). Between my findings using/cutting it open and a very solid review on ”Brand Ranks” (where it topped their flow and filtration rating charts) I believe this may be my new go to oil filter. It’s definitely not cheap, but it directly relates to the quality of the filter material. If you have the money for it and want the best, this is the filter you want.
