Bought these to replace broken strings on a student cello. Didn’t want to invest in expensive ones as kids tend to break them often. They so far have held up well and were easy and sturdy enough to replace.

I started playing cello several years ago as an adult. I play in a community orchestra and am hesitant to play notes on my A string because it has always screeched. I have tried several different brands even paying up to 30 per string with the same results. They sounded great when I knew what I was playing, but if I was hesitant and played lightly the A string and sometimes D screeched. These strings play with the softest touch and sound good. Not as good as the previous more expensive strings when playing with confidence, but I had my best performance with the orchestra yet this past weekend. I did not care for the C and D strings, but at the price of the set, only using 2 isn’t a real loss.

Was looking for something to put on my garden cello. These are a nice string that work for that purpose. Very easy to install and tune. Softer to the touch than preludes and sound just as good. Looking forward to playing them.

I had just broken one of my strings when I thought to myself, “it’s probably about time to replace them all anyway”. After looking at all of the $50+ sets, I came across this one and noticed it’s stellar reviews. I figured that for $30 they would be worth giving a try, just in case there was something to them. After restringing, I can honestly say that the sound from these cheap strings blew me away. I highly recommend them!

I’ve had the same set of strings for about 8 years now, so I guess it was time to change (about 7 years overdue). I put these on, tuned the cello and started playing and thought, now why didn’t I do this sooner? They sound amazing, something I will definately get again once these strings go bad

Haven’t used long enough to comment on durability.
Easy to install even though I made the dummy mistake of removing ALL existing strings… (I blame it on my buddy José)
Only suitable for a beginner due to sound quality, but not a bad choice for someone who wants to rock out at home and save their high end strings for delicate and true playing.

So I like it but I’m not a professional and I haven’t even been able to take any classes I’m just someone who likes the sound and plays a bit for fun. They are lasting better then the ones that came with the cello but I can not speak for anyone wanting a professional one maybe see other reviews.

I purchased these strings to replace my older, worn out strings. I figured that even if they were lower quality strings, it would still be an improvement over worn out, higher quality strings. This was not the case. All 4 strings are quite thin. The A and D strings are as thin as my banjo strings. In terms of sound quality, the A and D strings have a very bright, tinny sound. The C string is nearly unplayable. I had to tighten my bow as much as I could and place a good deal of bow pressure on the C string to allow it to vibrate enough to be audible. The G string could vibrate with less bow pressure, but the volume is still quite low. In summary, the A and D strings are playable, but have a very bright, tinny sound. The G and C strings are not worth putting on your cello. I recommend paying more for a set of Helicore strings, even on a student model cello.
