I’ve had issues with dry mucous membranes for years, and this includes my eyes. I’ve tried lots of different products, including those single-use disposable eyedrops with no preservatives (deeply underwhelming experience.)
The fact that these are gel-based makes ALL the difference. In longer surgeries (especially if you have eye issues,) hospitals will sometimes used a gel-based substance rather than just taping the eyes shut, as it’s gentler on the eyes and helps prevent corneal abrasions. This stuff is super comfortable and conveniently sized. I use it first thing in the morning before I put my contacts in, maybe once or twice during the day, and then at night when I’m taking my contacts out. I’d absolutely recommend this product to anyone. It also carries a similar price here on Amazon that you’d pay in-store.
