PattiArtGirl –
This bag is super well-padded, with neck holders and extra pads for the resonator. It’s built like a hard case but has all the benefits of a gig bag. This will be my case of choice when traveling with my Osborne Chief Walnut 5 String.
Sarah Brown –
The case is very light for its size and yet is surprisingly rigid for a soft-sided case. It is very well padded. The banjo is held in place by a velcro strap over the neck which keeps it from sliding around in the case. It will easily fit an 11″ or 12″ body and will accommodate a long-neck banjo as there is an extra 2-3 inches at the end of our 11″ Deering Goodtime banjo. The backpack straps can be zipped into a pouch on the back of the case so they do not catch on things if you have to check the case at the airport, or just don’t want them dangling around.

I was hesitant to spend this much on a case for my new Deering (resonator) banjo, but when you consider how much you pay for an instrument, it’s well worth the peace of mind. This case is very well-constructed. The pieces that support the bottom of your banjo (inside the case) are removable, so you can use both, one, or none. Additionally, are two neck supports that are also repositionable. My banjo fits perfectly! And the concealed backpack straps (zipped into the back) are perfect for travel. I am not disappointed in the least with this purchase. With so many soft-sided, flimsy cases around, this sturdy version is stellar.

I used one of these Reunion Blues cases for two years or so for my Stelling banjo. Great case, comfortable backpack straps and pretty darn solid for a soft case. Unfortunately the zippers started coming off of the track and it was impossible to find anyone who would work on a case like this to repair the zippers. Now its just a giant piece of trash, useless because it doesn’t close, sitting in the corner waiting to be throw out. Hurts my hearts to think it will just be another thing added to our lovely local landfill. Opted for a Crossrock hard-shell case this time around and have been pleased with the durability and portability of it.
S. Warren –
Handle in the wrong place for balance while carrying. Will not sit upright like a regular case and falls over. Uncomfortable to carry. Will be sending complaint to Reunion Blues.
Craig –
I use the product for a bouzouki. The padding is completely protective. The case is a bit floppy when open but not to the point that it would cause damage.
Lindsay B. Gow –
The better (and somewhat pricier) Bluegrass resonator banjos will incorporate a heavier metal tone ring in it construction making them heavier instruments. I looked at various banjo carrying bags before deciding on a tweed exterior wood card case for my new Goldtone BF150F banjo. The combination offered maximum protection albeit Heavy in weight. A banjo player I had just met had this Reunion Blues Banjo padded case. Wow. Was I impressed with its construction and materials. It is expedition/ world-travel sturdiness in mind. Well thought out with two large, accessible pockets. The rear has pair of back-pack straps that tuck inside a zippered pocket. a recessed hand hold for handling the instrument upright. Protective and rigid-enough for the travel I like to do by car and carry-aboard cabin in airlines? and much lighter in weight. Includes adjustable foam blocks that cradle and secure neck. Extra pads to cushion an open-back banjo drum.
Random Passage –
The case was extremely well-made and beautiful. For me, the case did not work as I have a standard size 5 string open back banjo and the case seems more geared towards a resonator-style banjo. With an open back, the drum head seems to swim in the case and the case is about 1.5″ – 2″ higher than needed (as this space accommodates a resonator). In addition, the neck supports are a bit taller so the banjo seems tilted in the case. I liked the ample size pocket and I believe the case is top notch. I hope that Reunion Blues will decide to make a smaller case for a standard open back banjo. If available, I would definitely buy one at this time.
