After tracking down the 3 prong computer cord to get this thing to work and it turns on but doesnt do much after that i let product sit dry for 6 months before trying to use for first time it turns on but sounds like the motors shorted too exspensive to be faulty and foreign

This Robinair vacuum pump came in its brand new condition and well packaged. It comes with the manual which also has the parts list. In order to register your product for warranty purposes you are supposed to enter the serial number and other pertinent information on the Robinair website. Unfortunately, when you use the drop menu to choose the product, vacuum pumps are not included. The box on the product says over the counter 1 year no hassle warranty (see dealer for details), but this is vague. Does it mean I can exchange it on Amazon if the product breaks down? Does it mean I can go to our local supplier and exchange it? Robinair’s vague statement about that type of warranty is not encouraging. Please note that the product comes prewired for 240 volt, but it has a wiring diagram on the motor to change the wiring to 120 volt. If you are not careful and you do not what you are doing, please check with someone who knows. Otherwise, there goes your brand new vacuum pump in a smelly smoke.
The product is workhorse and it suck the air out of the system (and moisture) fairly fast. The ballast is really good. The Isolation valve is certainly good. Note however that a few times the motor will hum, and will not start. I am taking off one star for the warranty issue and one start for the humming and no-starting issue. Please also note that it comes with a female electric connection and you need a good male electric cord, similar to the ones used in printers, but that carry more amperage.
