Mike Hagen –
Gigging musician… Here is an overview of why I needed this pedal. I front a high-energy top 40s band and play guitar intermittently throughout the night. As in the case with most musicians, I use the tuner for what it is but also as my mute switch when I am not playing and during breaks. I purchased this because I had a tuner that had too faint of a read out in the direct sunlight. I thought that this was pretty cool, tiny and was very bright in sunlight, and in theory. . . It is. This pedal’s accuracy is legit and yes, it definately is very visible in all conditions. While I did overcome the visibility issue, I have a new set of problems. My compaints are as follows:
1. When it came, it was sort of in pieces and I had to screw the display round knob together.
2. The threaded ring that keeps the glass/plastic display cover on is consistently loose (probably could fix this with some thread locker.
3. I ended up having to gaff the thing down onto my board becauase the velcro would not stick to the pedal. I attempted to score/sand the rubber foot and heated up the velcro adhesive to try to get it to be more solid but it was a no go. I am sure that I can fix this by removing the boot and puting the velcro directly to the bare pedal bottom but I shouldn’t have to do this.
4. THE BIGGEST REASON I DON’T LIKE THIS: It works inconsistently… I don’t play guitar on every song and the tuner pedal is my lifeline (unless I turn down the guitar volume instead) for keeping the guitar muted when I am not playing. Sometimes there will be 8-10 songs in a row where I don’t play. It then becomes confusing whether or not the tuner is on or off. So while I am tuning, I keep tapping the stomp to get it to tuning/mute mode and then suddenly my guitar is live in the system when I thought it was in tuner mode. Then I try to get it into tuner mode and NOTHING is lighting up. I then try to unplug the tuner then plug it back in and SOMETIMES it works and most of the time, I just have to plug my guitar into the next pedal because no signal is going through the tuner and the tuner is not lighting up. So either I tune by ear in between songs (we all hate that announcement on the microphone that says “give me an A” or “Wait, Stop, I have to Tune” then you are embarrassed and rushed and you think its good enough and the song becomes a train wreck because the good enough is just bad enough to be off key. There have been times where I pretended to play the guitar because I couldn’t get the tuner back on in time and I would look pretty silly picking up a guitar, tuning it, starting the song, and then puting it right back down or leaving it hand around my neck.
Moral of the Story, if you don’t mind having an unreliable tuner pedal, get it. If you want to save yourself from the risk of failure, embarssament or carring a backup tuner with you, get something else.

So, I bought this tuner to go on my mini board. I normally use a tc electronics tuner but figured I’d give the rockstock nano a try.
the good – it’s a solid tuner with a clear display and It doesn’t seem to affect the signal in any way. Tuning seems accurate.
The bad- it has a slight delay when you switch the tuner on.( It doesn’t mute instantly) This isn’t a big problem for me personally but I thought it was worth mentioning. Being that the pedal is so small it doesn’t have a lot of options. It would be really cool if it had a strobe tuner option or an always on option. All that being said It’s a solid tuner and the gimmicky size is pretty cool. It’s a tuner!!! Hope this review is helpful.

This tuner is bright! It’s accurate!!! And fast!!! And better yet it’s cheaper than the polytune and other famous tuners out there. Totally worth it!! Fits perfect and out of the way of my pedals
Update: it’s now 2022 and I am still rocking this tuner ! Works for me and it’s bright and it tunes doesn’t bug me that it doesn’t stay on all the time. It stays on long enough for me to complete a gig. Still happy with this nano tuner

Pedal arrived damage from shipping .Got a replacement in 3 or 4 days great turnaround. Super cool pedal. Great customer service.

this is a great tuner and will take up a lot less space on pedalboard if real estate is at a premium. to activate tuner, you press the top lcd. Its plastic so stepping on with foot with too much pressure will break it. Also, has a auto shutoff. thats great unless you want to use it as an always on.

I was looking for a smaller tuner to replace my Boss TU-3.
And, as I was coming out of the aux out of my volume pedal, I wasn’t concerned about a foot switch. I just always leave my tuner on. And also, I wasn’t concerned with how it may effect my signal flow.
This pedal has a large display for its size with highly visible colors. I have no doubt I’ll be able to see it in full daylight. And it tracks much faster than my TU-3. It seems accurate enough for my needs. This tuner exceeded my expectations.
The switch (the disc around the display) seems decent. I only push it once after turning my pedal board on. And I use my hand to do it. I can’t vouch for if I was stepping it on it continuously for use.

Really really impressed with this little pedal bought it because it was small and inexpensive and like it better than the standard boss tuner because 1. The response time is incredible. It starts to light up the second you touch the string 2. It’s bright and crystal clear which makes it so so easy to read 3. The size makes it really easy to throw in a guitar case.
It would be perfect if you’re putting it in a pedal board where are you are Velcroing it down. For me I just wish it had a little more weight for setting it on the floor but it doesn’t stop it from working great

If you need room on your board – this is the way to go. The tuner is super intuitive and easier to use than most. It seems as accurate as any other tuner. It mutes during tuning [like most]. I bought a second one for my spare board. All good.

The Nano Tuner from Rock Stock is exactly what it claims – the world’s smallest guitar pedal tuner. Not only does it take up 1/4 of the amount of space as a standard tuner pedal, it’s super accurate and really easy to see on stage. If you combine this with flat patch cables you’ll save enough space to add a whole extra pedal…and that’s what we’re all after, right?!?…more pedals on your board! Besides being super small, it is extremely accurate and a good build quality. It takes 9VDC, so basically any power supply you own will work with it. It came with dual lock (better alternative to velcro), which was a nice bonus so I could add it to my board right away. Whether you’re specifically looking for a tiny tuner or not, I’d recommend this pedal for anyone looking for a chromatic tuner for guitar or bass, and definitely a must-have if you’re trying to save space on your pedal board.
