The ebikes we have owned and have tried out, have a lot of wires and cables up front. So a handlebar extender like this one comes in handy for mounting extra lights and front bags. This one works for the Aventon Level 2 ebike. Note that you need to mount the clamps underneath the cables or else the headlight is completely blocked. the clamp for the headlight doesn’t allow you to mount it on the bar extension.
Several reviews on the many extender options out there all mention that the clamps are prone to breaking. So, be aware you are not going to be able to put 7 or 10 kilos of extra weight on this handlebar extender. 2 or 3 kilos for a phone and snacks should not be a problem.
The bar clamps are very tight and delicate enough that you can’t pry them open much. That resulted in the bar getting scratched up (see pictures) trying to slide it into the clamps. It is not clear if that will weaken the very light weight bar.

I got one as a gift a while back and it’s pretty solid. I keep a bunch of random stuff on my handlebars so this helped a lot. I also used a different handlebar to mount on them rather than the one it came with and the extra acts as a guard rail for my break levers.

This would be perfect if it was designed for more that just a standard mountain bike with a straight handlebar. Let me say that part again… a STRAIGHT handlebar.
In the description they mention the dimensions of how long the bar is, and it’s diameter. But nothing about the brackets themselves. They are a lot smaller than they look in the picture, and only extend the bar outwards 3 inches.
So with that in mind, back to the straight handlebar thing. If you have a handlebar that has the U-shaped curve in the middle (as would be seen on a cruiser bike, electric bike, scooter, or even a motorcycle), this is not for you. The extension bar ends up being squeezed in between the outer portions of your handlebar.
Or, in my scenario, if you have an electric bike or scooter that has a digital display that you need to extend away from, this is not for you. The extension bar ends up lower than, and behind, the display and you can’t mount anything to it.
Let me be clear, there is no problem with the length (width, really) of the extension bar itself. It seems to be “wide” enough to attach a few good things. But the short brackets make the entire kit useless, unless you have an absolutely straight handlebar with nothing bulky at the centre-point.
If they had a version of this with brackets that would put the extension bar 6-, 8-, or even 10- inches away from the handlebar, I would buy it. But at 3 inches, it serves no purpose for me.

My eBike has a cluster of digital screens mounted to the handlebars, and with all the myriad cables and connectors between the displays, brakes, throttle, shifters, etc there wasn’t any room left for a light or a cell phone holder (needed to have a map display visible). This item attaches to the main handlebar in a space too small for other attachments to work, and then give me another bar to add more stuff to. It works perfectly and is exactly what I needed.
