Rhoto now makes a dry (purple) bottle, while the hydro, I was turned on by a contact lense wearer. These are the best as i have dry eye yet I hate using the redness medication and this and refresh help wiht simply wetting the eye.

This is the best dry eye lubricant I have every used! Seriously, I had difficulty wearing contact lenses due to dry eyes. I had to use eyeglasses with very thick lenses (even so-called “light weight” lenses were thick and heavy) for decades. Since trying this lubricant, I look forward to buying prescription contact lenses. A little pricey for the size, but oh, so worth every cent!!!

Whenever my eyes get a little dry or I use some electronic screens too long, my vision gets a little blurry. 1 drop in each eye of this brand sharpens my focus again.

The purple one does help with lubricating dry/burning eyes. But this kind said, it too, had a cooling effect. But it doesn’t. Stick with the Blue one if you like the cooling effect.

I ordered these drops for my mother, who has dry, itchy eyes. She has tried different brands and she tells me these are the best she has had, as they are soothing and stop the itching.

I’ve tried a number of eye moisturizing drops. Most were so so. Many provided short term relief at best. My eye doctor recommended these drops. I was amazed at how thoroughly they wet my eyes. They are the gentlest drops I’ve ever used. Almost like your own tears. And they last a long time. I want to point out I tried other versions, for example the ice, but I find the original works best. I carry these with me. I keep one at my desk. The top can be tricky to open until you get the hang of it. It is designed to help avoid contamination. I highly recommend this product.

I normally buy Refresh Tears because my eyes respond well to the carboxymethylcellulose that is the active ingredient in this product. I have tried the other major brands to see if their active ingredient would work as well and found that they didn’t. This item, Rohto, has a different active ingredient – povidine – that I had not yet tried. I received my order of Rohto today and have used it twice. I should say I have extreme dry eye issues. Refresh works well, soothing and cooling my eyes when irritated. The Rohto does sooth and cool my eyes, but it also tingled just a bit when first adding a drop to my eyes. Not a bad thing, just different. Not sure why it does that, but in the end, it’s just all about how my eyes feel and so far the Rohto is working fine. Not better or even worse than Refresh, but similarly. Systane never has worked well to keep my eyes comfortable, so finding another product that does is a good thing for me. Hopefully it will work well for others too…

After alternating between these drops and my Refresh drops, I have to admit that I still prefer Refresh over these. The Rohto drops sting for just a second when I put them in my eyes and they don’t seem to give comfortable relief for as long as the Refresh drops give me. Having tried all the dry eye drops and comparing their main ingredients, the ones that work best for me (which may be different for others) have a main, active ingredient of carboxymethylcellulose. Rohto’s povidine works, but for my eyes, just not as well. Because our chemical make-up has minute differences (such as being able to tolerate fiery hot foods or lactose intolerance in dairy products to name two), there is a chance povidine would be the best choice for someone else. Best to do your own testing to find out if this one is “the” one for you!
