It’s a good size to fit in the pocket of my BCD. Also has a clip to attach to a D-ring. I saw another review where a woman said she couldn’t erase it. Don’t know how that’s possible. Maybe she was passing really hard with the pencil. I can wipe off the writing by licking my finger and rubbing it on the slate.

I’ve been using this for a few years to write swimming workout intervals on. It was fantastic with a new, sharpened pencil. The pencil cord and pencil aren’t designed for easy replacement, so once the pencil starts to dull or you start to sharpen it down, the clock is ticking on its usefulness. Otherwise, though, good product.

I wanted a small slate I could slip into my BC pocket to be able to write out short questions or ask instructions on where hand signals won’t suffice. I have a large one that I use for classes and so forth, but it isn’t fit for dragging along during a fun dive. This one fits perfectly into my BC pocket and is easy to write on. I can use it to jot down details of my dive plan, and the writing stays put until I use slate cleaner to scrub it off. I also appreciate the little clip so I can attach to my BC if I don’t want to put it back into my pocket.

The slate is so useful and the perfect size! Was very useful when communicating underwater, writing a list of organisms I saw on dive, and also sketching unknown organisms.
Cleaned with a magic eraser and a regular eraser afterwards for any “ghost” writing left over.

Others have commented that you cannot erase the pencil off the slate – that is true, it is very difficult to erase, however that is a feature of all underwater slates as far as I can tell. This is a great value for a basic slate and I have carried it on dozens of dives without a problem. Great to stick in your BC pouch and forget about until you need it.
