Manford Brown –
I had a DVD player in my RV but could not play Blu-ray discs. This was the perfect solution. Good price, easy to use and great picture.

The Blu-ray player that I replaced with this one was a Sony DVP-SR501H. I have a huge 2500 DVD collection and used that player practically every day for 5 years. I get really tired of seeing commercials every 7 minutes and when I’ve had enough, I would go on a movie or watch complete series DVDs binge. Finally after 5 years of movies the poor little unit quit spinning the discs. As a matter of fact I really didn’t expect it to last that long. This player is basically the same unit except this one has Wi-Fi witch I don’t use.
If you want a Blu-ray player that is built like a tank then this is the one for you. I don’t know about all the rest of the features on this unit and I don’t care. I have a laptop for all that other stuff that’s hooked up to my 60″ flat screen through an hdmi cable. So I only want this player to play my movies.
It’s only my opinion but you can’t go wrong with this player. The price is within reason and it will last for years. I would highly recommend this player. You won’t be disappointed either.

I like the fact this player is compact, do it doesn’t take a lot of space. The picture quality is great and overall a great buy. I have two of this same player in two separate rooms of course, and I just love it. I have not had any problems. It’s a good buy!

I bought this player on Amazon so that I could play the five blue ray discs that I have. After I placed the order, I noticed that Sony was selling it for $20 less than Amazon. The picture of the product is deceiving. It’s almost half as wide. That’s ok. I was shocked at the size. The main disappointment is the lack of apps. I will probably use only three that are offered. There is no Prime, Peacock, Paramount+, Disney, ESPN, etc. The only ones offered that I recognize are Netflix, Vudu, Tubi, YouTube, Pandora and SiriusXM. It can use Wi-Fi, which is nice. It can access my PC and play music and show my pictures and videos. The one blue ray movie that is newer looks great, has excellent video quality. It’s not worth $90+. Here’s an update after using the player for two months. Netflix does not work. It freezes and tries to buffer until I give up and turn it off. I was hoping to return it, but I guess I missed the deadline. $90+ down the drain!

It was super easy to set up. Everything works great and the picture is very good. I havenโt had it that long and only used it a couple of times so if I have any problems in the future I will update.

Can’t really add many apps and the apps it comes with are pretty standard. Honestly at this point should have just put the money toward a Smart TV, but it does play blu-ray and DVDs so there’s that.

The unit installed easily. The DVD has been used several times, both with standard DVD and BluRay. Works fine so far. The WiFi connection to secure source was easy. However, the app selection was limited and could not be expanded beyond those included with the unit. A few well known apps included: Netflix, Hulu, etc. and several mostly unknown (at least to me) apps available. If anyone really wants to use this device for streaming, be very sure you only want what is included. I mostly wanted a DVD player, so it is OK, but still need the Roku to stream. PS- I disabled the WiFi connection because it was useless for me, and the Sony EULA made it clear they could monitor my use.
