SOOPYK Ice Makers Countertop

I treated myself to this since I don’t do that often… to use for my ninja blenders since I don’t feel comfortable using regular sized ice tray ice. I got this in December i guess.. I didn’t realize I’ve had it that long lol…. but I have only used a handful or two times. So far it’s an OK machine but it’s not perfect.

Pros….
– decent size machine. Good enough for small spaces.
– for most part it’s fairly quiet when making ice. No grinding noises or anything.
– once the machine is warmed up and put out a few sets the ice is good size. As stated above it’s good size for blenders (large and smaller blenders).

Cons ….
– takes a few ice drops for the ice pieces to be normal size. The first few are pretty bad their half peices
– beeps for no water even when there is water in it.
– beeping when ice is done is annoying its not just a beep or two it just keeps going multiple times incessantly.
– the whole bar that freezes the ice cubes does not freeze evenly.
– the more I’ve used it it seems like the longer it takes to make ice. Yesterday 6/18/21 it literally took a whole day to make the first batch (I mean from initially turning it on… 1 set in the container). I don’t mean a whole bag full which is what I transfer them into).
– ice melts fast if putting it in a to go bottle (and I transfer the cubes to big freezer bag and put in freezer or deep freezer before use I don’t use right away unless I’m blending).

I hope this machine keeps working even if it does take a few sets til it makes normal size ice. Otherwise I will feel like 99$ is down drain. However I think I purchased insurance with it. I don’t think I recommend this machine but if u do get it….. add the insurance. Because ya never know (with anything. I always get insurance on anything over 50/100$).

This ice maker is fast and the reservoir is spacious, however, the ice bin doesn’t fit the machine correctly causing it to prematurely stop making ice long before its full.

 I’d been wanting to get one of these ice makers for quite some time, and when the one in our fridge died, I decided NOW was the time. So far, I really like it. It took me a bit to figure it all out, but it really is super simple to set up and use. I was over thinking things. The main thing to know is that the power light is a solid BLUE when it’s on.. not a flashing blue, and the instructions aren’t really clear on that fact. I believe the first time I used it, there was air in the lines and it was clearing itself of that. All three lights were flashing blue, and things were happening inside, but no ice. Without knowing exactly what to expect, I was unsure how to proceed. I eventually turned it off and back on, and it started making ice. It’s very quiet, and makes ice as quickly as it claims. Be SURE not to fill the water tank all the way to the line, or your new ice made will lay in water when it drops into the ice tray. You’ll also need to let it set flat upright for 24 hours before use. There is a silicone plug in the bottom of the tank to drain any left over water. And honestly that’s all there is to it. Put the water in and wait.. empty the ice bin when it gets full. Check the water level occasionally to be sure it’s high enough for the pump to work. Excellent price, looks nice, and it even makes the good kind of tube ice. Very pleased with this purchase. I’m including a quick video of how it works.

Love that it’s small, reservoir is small as well, which it would have to be because the product is small. But it does take a while to actually make ice
