I was looking for a nice torch lighter to use on the propane torch for camping. This is a little pricey but works as intended. It holds quite a bit of lighter fuel. I used it for three days and still have half-full left. It has a safety switch to prevent accidental turn-on. It works well but once in a while, it doesn’t turn on. Just be careful not to touch the end of the lighter torch because it gets hot after use. It is a nice item to use camping.

Best lighter available for igniting camping stoves Etc. The built in telescopic tube keeps you hands well away from the flame and retains its compact size when the tube is pushed back in. The lighter has a safety mechanism that prevents accidental release of any gas or flame when kept in you pocket or backpack.
The lighter is extremely reliable and worked every time for the three years up until the day I lost it, I replaced it with this new one immediately as it was available on a next day delivery.
The gas filling adapter is a cost option not included with the lighter, but is a must have if you use camping gas cylinders, as the adapter lets you refill the lighter from your camping gas cylinder. Highly recommended

Simple operation and a design that keeps fingers well away from the micro-stove I use for backpacking (unlike a simple BIC lighter). I really like the ability to refill (with an adaptor sold separately) from an iso-butane canister.

This is the perfect camp & backpacking lighter, small compact, refillable. our primary use is starting various types of camp stoves (need reach distance) and camp fire making to fusing paracord. I’ve purchased several for my kids in scouting and small gifts to their friends. Been a year now with extensive camping use at high altitude and still kicking great. Key features I have not found in one compact pocketable package, as a shopping checklist that make this 5 star: Extendible nozzle to be able to reach into any stove or remote stove lighting capability to not burn your / your kids hands (distance measured from starting button to flame). Starter safety switch so it won’t light by an accidental button push in your pocket. Window to see butane level and quickly inspect if it has fuel (if there’s no window, then you have to fill it to be safe so you have fuel when on a campout – brought lighter, but it was out of fuel…), adjustable burn that all fits in a pocket or mini access pouch in backpack. the only time we’ve had a problem in one of six, seemed to be getting soot in the nozzle head, chance to test customer service, which was AWESOME, we debugged some things and once confirmed issue, they replaced the defective unit! I have yet to find anything like it, hope is continues to be available. IMHO I would ignore review that it never lit, because that great child safety switch is the likely cause, I’ve personally seen my kid give it to another to use and the feedback was it didn’t work, then he pushed in the safety then light (a single step) and it lit up right away. If anything MFG should make more visible for those used to traditional non-safety switch lighters, perhaps by making the safety switch two color, please don’t remove the safety feature.

Lo vi en videos de campamento de gente de Japón. Muy buena opción. Tiene un mecanismo de seguridad para que los niños no puedan operarlo. Tengo más de soplete, pero el único extensible.

It works so far but I have to say I am worried about longevity. Its feels very cheaply made and I do worry if it will hold up. But it lights well and is wind resistant so for now. 5 review will keep all advised in the future

I bought the old version here on Amazon a few years ago. It’s pictured on Amazon with the yellow ignitor button in the current ad. It broke so I ordered a new one and got an ‘updated’ version. The update is the ignitor button. Rather than having the yellow button you pull away from the unit (child safety, I’m sure) there’s now a little ridged piece in the middle of the button you have to push toward the unit with your thumb as you depress the button. It’s incredibly difficult to get right the first time let alone successive attempts. Each time requires fiddling with your thumb and button. Additionally, mine simply won’t ignite. I’ve even depressed the button to get fuel flow and lit the end with another lighter and it will only ignite once every ten or so tries.
If i hadn’t just filled this with butane it would be going back. The old one was slightly quirky but usable. It’s unusable in the new form.

UPDATE Sept2023 reduced to 3 Stars: I want to love this lighter. I bought two and there work excellent at home (2200ft). However, when camping at 8000 ft neither one works. Luckily I still carry an flint & bic lighter in my kitchen kit to save the day. It has worked fine at 5000ft.
Excellent lighters but seem to have issues at high elevations (where most of our summer camping takes place).
ORIGINAL REVIEW 5 stars: This torch works fantastic. Used a butane purged tool to purge air, fill, purge air, then completely fill. I fill with high quality Colibri butane. Because of the long extension tube, gas has to initially enter the tube. So to start, depress button g immediately release to let the gas flow. Then immediately depress again to light. Lights every time. Also due to the long extension tube & how much gas you have flowing, there will also be a short delay before the flames goes out after the button is released. The video shows it at the highest gas level, as you adjust the gas flow dial the delay will decrease. This delay is not a flaw but due to the gas remaining in the extension tube.
Of course I still make sure I have emergency matches, but the Soto Extendable torch XT is my go to lighter.

Best lighter for alcohol stoves and hard to reach stoves. Made in Japan 100% quality !!

I originally got this for backpacking. I didn’t want to have a situation where I was just using a little BIC lighter and potentially burning myself. I love that this is windproof and has the extendable neck to ensure that I could light a stove or campfire or whatever without getting burned.
Since getting a first one, I ended up getting a second for a camp kitchen kit. The piezo lighter on my stove is somewhat iffy in starting the gas, so I got this and it works wonderfully.
You can easily fill it with butane canisters you can get at just about any gas station. You can also get an adapter to be able to use backpacking fuel canisters to refill it.
All-in-all, it’s great!
