This is a great addition to our tool set. It saves me the .56 seconds of having to mess with those old school knifes. Seriously .56 doesnt sound like much but i tested and times over and over like an olympic specialist. I dont know the name of the olympic times guy

They used to be very sketchy, but someone musta told them it was iffy. Now-a-days,it is SOOOO much better!
I haven’t lost any skin, I haven’t questioned anything. I am thankful they got it dialed in. The second you try a new one is the second you realize it’s changed. Took me a reach. Definitely worth the reach!! Much better!!

I own a bunch of these utility knives and I think they are the best ones on the market. I have a few that are more than ten years old and still work great.
But I gave this a one-star rating because the picture shows two knives and I only received one. I can think of no other reason for the listing to have a picture of two knives except to try and make you think that you are buying two knives.

I have been a finish carpenter and project manager for nearly 5 decades, primarily for upscale lakefront homes at Lake Tahoe. I’ve used many different utility knives over the years and these are the best by far, though I agree that the packaging is a hassle. But that is true for just about everything we buy these days. The blade change is super fast and super easy. I hate to say it, but all those negative reviews must be made by mentally challenged folks who possibly should not be playing with sharp tools in the first place. It’s sad because the ratinga are dramatically skewed downward from where they should be, which is a solid five stars!

When you find a good tool you stick with it. I’ve been using this knife for at least ten years or more when it first came out. I carry it everyday and feel lost without it. It house’s extra blades and “no tool” blade changes, what more could you ask for? I’ve never had one break on me yet. The only reasons I’ve had to replace them is because I lose them or I don’t get them back from people who borrow them. Apparently they like them too.

I have several of these around the house. Are they a PITA to get the off the packaging? Yes. Does that some how make it a bad product? Of course not. It’s minimal packaging and it can’t be so easy to remove that it falls off.
I find it to have exactly what I expect from a utility knife. Three blade click positions. One position to quick load a new blade. Spare blades stored in handle. Easy to take apart.
It’s a great product.

This is a GREAT knife … but there was a total lack of directions on how to make the knife operable. Fortunately, there are excellent You Tube videos that describe the process. The one thing they omit is how to pull out the darn cardboard from the knife:
You remove the cardboard the same way you remove an old blade, with one addition (#1):
1. Cut off the piece of carboard that sticks out near the button you need to push forward.
2. Push the slider button all the forward.
3. Hold the yellow button in while you pull the cardboard forward from where the blade will go.
Another hint: You do NOT have to remove the screw to reach the stored blades. The lower part of the handle pulls down when you press the black button on the top … near the back of the handle.

Have used these knives before and like the weight and performance. The two replacements recently received are so stiff they blade cannot be extended/retracted with one hand. They may get easier with use, but the current stiffness makes them unsafe to use.
After having time to investigate the initial problems with the blade, I found that the blade was not reaching full insertion. Pushing the blade completely into the knife so it locked into place solved the stiffness problem. We have several of these around the house and garage and use them daily. The best utility knife I have ever used.
