The mouse works fine… once you figure out what “CPI” means…
The manual, well, that’s half a star…. Why can’t they add real instructions? And the default screen I don’t think I was able to read it when I was 20/20 in my youth. At least, with enough poking around I got it work.
The cable… it’s looooong…. way too long. It’s be nice if they shipped it with a coiled cable… which BTW it’s micro USB. What? So, of course, I had to ordered a coiled micro USB cable because all I got now -coiled- is USB-C. How about going to a USB-C, huh?
Other than that it works very well, and the sound matches my keyboard… sort of.
I think I’ll get the mini for my chromebook.
EDIT: I’m throwing it away, won’t even bother wasting my time with a return
(1) There is no manual that tells you how to USE the menu…. it’s a cryptic page.
(2) The support page comes up with some crazy automatic response, it has no clue. It tells me to add some software to my PC and to update the graphics drivers. It’s useless.
(3) All too often, the mouse cursor dissappears under a window and can not be recovered unless you unplug and replug the USB cable. Yes, I’ve tried the CTRL key to find the mouse, it finds it OK, but it’s under a window and the cursor is not brought up active… I’ve done all the mouse configurations, thank you!
(4) The USB cable is NOT replaceable. The connector is unique and a “standard” micro USB cable can not reach in and connect. It’s flat out a stupid design.
IMHO, I just wanted a simple, well made mouse that would support a removable USB cable so I can use a coiled cable. This mouse is way too complicated and compromised. They should try to take the switch, keep it and get rid of everything else, including the built in menu…
Nice mouse, when it works. I went back to my 15 year old mouse and wrapped its long cord so it doesn’t go all over my desktop.
A mouse is a simple thing, should be a simple thing. If I have to spend 2 hours of my life trying to figure it out, something is fundamentally wrong with its design.
EDIT: I tried sending an email describing my issues with the mouse:
“running windows 11, the cursor will dissappear under an active window. I got the CTRL “finder” enabled but the cursor doesn’t pop up when I click on the mouse. I have to unplug and plug the cable.”
In the manufacturer’s web site. BUT you have to create an account, WTH? In this age of wide spread leaks, and they want me to create an account for support for SOMETHING I PAID FOR?
JUNK support. I’m thinking that instead of throwing it away, I’ll return it. Let them suffer some pain as I have for the last few days with this thing.

I remember back in the day when they first started making mice they were great, the ikari laser was able to increment the CPI by 1 15 years ago, now it’s only by 50? I still have no idea what benefit the louder mouse click is supposed to provide as well.
Unfortunately the size is really small, that combined with all it really doing is linking up to other peripherals to change colors together, I can only assume steelseries is done making pro gaming gear and is all-in on the femboy twink demographic

(Np. Rival 300) Pasuje do chwytu typu Palm.

It’s a high quality, lightweight mouse with a screen you can use to configure features. I wasn’t expecting the mouse to be this good given the price point.

I purchased the SteelSeries Prime+ as a replacement to my SteelSeries Rival 700. The rival 700 is a tank and still works perfectly. I have a huge amount of appreciation for the work and effort that went into making the Rival 700 a well-built quality product. The only reason I decided to replace the 700 was that it is VERY heavy compared to modern gaming mice. I also do not need leds or a side screen to display images. The Prime+ seemed like a great replacement as it weighs less than half of the Rival 700 and does away with the unnecessary LED’s. I love the Prime+ for its simplicity. It is the perfect size and weight for me and I cannot see myself going back to a heavier mouse. The only negative I have to mention is that I had read several people who had the mouse wheel go bad on them after a few months. I can confirm that the mouse wheel doesn’t feel great. The way it scrolls it not very crisp and this is the one part of the mouse I am concerned about longevity. The 700 was incredibly well built, I’ve used that mouse for almost 5 years and it is still functioning perfectly. The scroll on the 700 is very crisp. I use the scroll wheel a lot when browsing the internet or working so my only disappointment in the Prime+ is that the wheel feels like a downgrade from the crispness of the 700. I have tried many mice including Zowie, and Logitech and the Prime+ is still my favorite. If SteelSeries comes out with an improved version of the Prime+ that has a more durable scroll wheel then I will never need to look at another brand or mouse. I still recommend the Prime+ just make sure you take the scroll wheel into consideration!

It’s a really great mouse for both gaming and productivity.
