Compact well-made saw with plenty of power to cut through 6″+ limbs, I like having it corded, I’m working in my yard with AC available, no having to be deal with batteries and charging. I’m reducing the height of a old 12′ tall Leyland Cypress hedge, requires working on a ladder in a confined space, a bit difficult, however the saw is small and light enough to get the job done, just have to be careful, much, much faster than using a hand saw. Easy to set-up, directions cover all the details, I would definitely recommend this saw, it works great and is priced effectively…!!!

I prefer electric chainsaws over gas. Easier to control. The sun Joe is a good performing tool. On the downside the chain was cheap. Dulled after about 10 cuts. Also the screw for tightening the chain really needs to be better designed. It’s a flat head screw. Should have been at least a Phillips head. And the location, it’s recessed and difficult to tighten and too near the chain. Be careful with your hand.

Sun Joe SWJ599E 14-inch 9-Amp Tree Limb Master Electric Handheld Chainsaw with Low-Kickback was used to cut apart an old cabinet and it worked perfectly.
We had an old TV cabinet that was extremely well made that we no longer wanted. It weighed a ton and was too heavy to move, took up too much space and we had no use for it any more.
So I came up with the idea to cut it apart to get rid of it.
This chain saw worked flawlessly. For starters we over filled the oil. The oil window is a bit hard to see, it doesn’t show the oil level clearly. So my SO insisted it needed more and it overflowed. BUT, even being over flowed it worked without any problems. Instructions CLEARLY state do not over fill
It cut through the thick mdf boards with no problems. Sound level was great. You don’t want to use a gas chain saw inside your home so this worked perfectly. Saw dust did NOT fly all over. It stayed where the blade was cutting.
The saw is very light weight. There IS no kick back. It cut through the boards like a gas chain saw.
Perfect chainsaw for smaller, neater jobs and even indoors!
Absolutely recommend this saw.

I love this electric chainsaw! My husband is gone for the winter, and I’m not comfortable with a gas powered chainsaw, but our last electric saw bit the dust. So I ordered this one, pre-owned. I’ve never ordered anything pre-owned from Amazon before, but I was trying to pinch pennies from every angle, so I took the gamble…and I’m so happy I did! I’m assuming the only thing different was the packaging, for instance the chainsaw tool didn’t come in a plastic sleeve nor did the chain come zip tied to the bar like the instructions stated, but aside from those minute details, I would’ve never known it was pre-owned. Literally zero signs of use whatsoever. I did have to consult a friend upon first attaching the chain, just to make sure I got it tight enough on there. The first day the tensioner screw did back itself off entirely while I was using it, but that’s operator error for not having the cover tightened down enough. Luckily I had another screw of the same diameter, and as long as you crack down on the nut of the outside cover so it is good and tight, you can cut all day without having to adjust your chain. The chain came super sharp, and that’s a huge plus. I’ve cut about a cord and a half of bull pine, covered in sap, cedar and aspen thus far and haven’t needed to sharpen yet. It cuts like butter, doesn’t bog or seem to struggle through branches all the way to 20” diameter stumps. Very versatile!! I also love the gauge for the bar oil, so you can clearly see when you need to add more. I’ve learned to use a gasser since my purchase, and don’t tell anybody, but I’m highly tempted to say f*** the 2 cycle, throw the gas in the generator instead, pack a cord, and fall some trees next time I go get firewood!! Definitely recommend if you’re new to chainsaws and are looking for something a little more forgiving than a gas saw to start on, something that’s more eco friendly, or cheaper to use!

The saw works well, cut down and logged 4 trees in less than an hour, blade goes through the trees like a hot knife through butter. I gave it 4 stars because there are some features that are less than ideal but not deal breakers: 1) the chain tension adjuster on my old saw was a knob on the side you didn’t need the tool to adjust a set screw this would make tightening adjustments easier on the fly and 2) the cover for the bar could also be a hand wheel instead of a bolt this would eliminate the tool they supply all together and make the saw easier to work with. 3) a clip so that the cord would not come unplugged when it snags on a limb would also be nice. That being said I have now been running this saw with a generator in my back acres to do trees and it has preformed as well as an gas saw I have ever owned and doesn’t have the weight to carry around or the shoulder jarring starting. Sunjoe will not disappoint you especially at this price point!

I ordered the Sun Joe 14-inch corded chainsaw and have been very happy with it. I needed to cut down several trees, each with about 5- or 6-inch diameter limbs, after several storms split the trees. I read reviews before purchasing and it seems like people either were quite happy or quite displeased. I went ahead and ordered anyway as the price point was very reasonable and I really just needed it for only several trees. I have previously used the Sun Joe pole saw and absolutely love it! I wouldn’t be without it, and have used it many times over the past several years with no problems except for a minor oil leak. I learned to live with that as the saw was so good besides and I didn’t want to get rid of it. It still cuts through up to 3-inch diameter limbs like they were butter. The 14-inch chain saw also did not disappoint me, and cut through those huge 6-inch diameter limbs easily. I did not experience any chain slippage or falling off. As someone else giving a review mentioned, don’t force the saw but let it do it’s job. I followed that advice and had no problems. I also want to mention that I normally buy corded yard tools, that’s just my preference and I don’t have problems with anything. All in all, I am quite happy with Sun Joe tools, especially as I mentioned, the pole saw.
