I understand I bought a used assembly, but it was supplied without a cutting blade. I will accept this item, providing the supplier sends a blade, otherwise this trimmer is not usable.
Please advise ASAP or I will return this item, thank you for your help with this matter.
    Regards,
    Andy,

This is the second one I’ve purchased and really like the replaceable blades. The1st one lasted over 10 years. It is very powerful but don’t recommend it for the “edging” part of weed-eating a yard as that wears out the blades really fast (I bought a separate edger for that) and ruins the motor over time digging in the dirt edging. Also recommend getting a 14 gauge “outdoor” extension cord for optimal performance using this. Works great on the bigger thicker weeds/grass.It’s comfortable to maneuver for me.

If I could give this product a zero stars I would. This is not the worst but it’s not good at all. It easily overheated I had to stop what I was doing several times to let it cool down and even then when it did cool down and I was able to continue using it it did not do an adequate job the grass is very uneven I had to go over the same place over and over and over to get even remotely even and frankly I don’t think it’s the blade itself I think it is the motor that’s in the device that just isn’t very powerful it is definitely not strong enough to do the job.

Purchased this product at the end of April. The tool worked well for trimming the edges of the lawn after mowing. Yesterday, I tried it as an edger so I could clean up along the sidewalks and front walkway.

There was about 100 feet to edge. The tool slowed down and failed after 12 feet. There was smoke coming out of the motor housing. This was the 5th use… I had used the tool weekly during May. I didn’t expect the motor to burn out. There were no warning signs – it slowed down and I stopped to look at the tool.

It’s very disappointing because all of my other Sun Joe and Snow Joe purchases have been great. I have the battery powered lawn mower and battery powered snow blower, a leaf blower/vac and a pressure washer.

It is very loud but worked well for me. I do not want to fuss with string trimmers any longer. So this was a good option for me. It was easy to set up and comfortable for me to use. I am older and have arthritis but this proved easy to operate for me.

This is the worst Weed wacker I have ever owned. I liked the idea it was stringless, lightweight and supposedly easy to use. I am a female and do all my own lawnwork. I had too many problems with the line ones breaking and having to rewind them midway. So decided to try this one out. This Sun Joe is a joke. I used it maybe 4 times, being very careful not to go near the edge of my sidewalk or high weeds after reading reviews how fast the plastic blade breaks down. Why is there a plastic blade and not a metal one which will last longer?? The very last time I used it, maybe the 4th time, it started out fine, then made a loud sqealing noise and voila just quit. I tried starting it up again because I thought it may have gotten overheated?? Nothing…I asked a friend who can repair/fix anything to see if he could get it going again. He worked on it for an hr and thought there was something caught between the blade and motor that got jammed. Nothing was caught. The blade would not turn even though it was not plugged in. He got it to start up for a couple of seconds making the worst noise ever, then it died. He came to the conclusion that the motor just quit. It was past the time to return. Never again would I buy a Sun Joe. I’ll go back to the string ones and although they are a pain, at least they last more than this piece of junk. Don’t waste your money. I’d rather use a pair of scissors, which I have at times. My scissors are still holding up, more than I can say about Sun Joe. I’d give this a zero rating if I could. Move on and buy a more worthwhile one. You will be disappointed with this Sun Joe.

I had one of these before and it worked great. I gave that one to my son then decided I still need one so bought new. The blade is so much more efficient than string, mostly because it cuts down thicker weeds. Iโ€™ve had some weeds probably half inch or more thick, takes em down like cutting butter. The blade on my old one did start to wear and ends broke off but probably from me hitting concrete wall. Blade is super easy to replace. Iโ€™d recommend this for anyone with big weeds. I donโ€™t mind the extension cord since you can trim till you wear out not a battery. And I feel safer than gas.

I bought this tool in hope that I could “mis use” it for a specific project. I had 6 inches to a foot of dirt and ivy root overgrowth on my driveway that I wanted to reclaim.

Obviously, the cute little plastic blade isn’t up to this. And everything about this trimmer says DO NOT USE OTHER BLADES. Well duh, that’s the first thing I do. I gotย

    B0836KXQSC this blade

ย as well as the popular three point blade here on amazon. It totally worked!!

Some notes about mis-using and abusing this product:
    – It has a 1 inch arbor.
    – The arbor is taller than a standard thin blade like the ones you can buy, so to use ONE blade, you need to shoulder it with a 1 inch washer.
    – This tool has low torque but high RPM. So its mis-use is about managing the energy in the blade’s speed. When I attack at something more than the the blade can chew on, I back off after a bite so that it doesn’t completely stall.

Initially, I didn’t have my special 1 inch washer, so I had to stack the three point blade and the round blade on each other. It worked out perfect! The three point one sticks out about an inch from the round blade. I was able to cut through the roots and also excavate the built up dirt. I wore down the 3 point tips about half way but I got my project done.

After my project, I used the trimmer to actually trim stuff. The intended, included plastic blades absolutely suck. Then I mounted up the round blade and WOW it works so well! Basically, this trimmer is all about the RPM so using the trimmer is about managing the momentum and keeping the trimmer from stalling.

The round blade really eats through huge overgrown weeds. It’s a great combo for when you have to manage the yearly neglect on your property.

Super powerful ..Super Loud, but amazing. Very powerful and light. Wayy more powerful then expected and was easily able to chop through loads of large weed trees and carve out a clear edge to my lawn.

This is the answer to weed eating and edging. I love, love, love this weed eater!!! I’ve tried gas, I’ve tried battery, but this electric weed eater with an electric cord is my salvation!!! I love the blade that comes with the weed eater, they are pricey when bought separately, but awesome and crazy easy to replace, forget string, this is the easiest blade replacement I’ve ever experienced.
