This is the best book on surf fishing techniques I have ever read. I live in Ireland and have had time to try a few of these rigging techniques and have bought and tried a few of lures mentioned. I’m now catching more fish than I ever did before. Wherever you live in the world I’m sure that you will find this book a big help in improving your fishing. Some of the terms used and the names of the fish may be different to where you live but it is very easy to Google these. I found that we have a lot of fish the same but called by another name and these methods work. A great book, wish that I had come across it years ago.

At last, a book that lives up to its title. It really deals whith rigs and lures, nothing more, nothing less. I appreciate that most of the book is a one by one description of the different rigs/lures, describing a little history about them, their use, action, and how to fish them.
I don’t give it 5 stars because for some of the lures, the information is not complete. For example, the actual way to fish them is not described. Overall, a good book that deserves to be in your bookshelf as a reference.

I like this Surfcaster’s Guide because it has basic info for those who know nothing, but it is comprehensive enough to give us intermediates something to chew on as well. Pack full of useful info. Helpful for the whole Eastern seaboard. Highly recommended!
