THIS THING IS PERFECT for ANY occasion.
It it super portable and easy for on-the-go!
I added a boom mount for cymbal, and a hi-hat, ALL fit in the bag provided except for my hi-hat stand and throne. But that beats every full-kit loading I’ve ever had.

Birch shells are fantastic. Immediately changed stock heads (changed to Remo Ambassadors). Requires some tuning time, but was able to get it dialed-in. Kick is pretty flat. Comes with middle-of-the road Tama Iron Cobra pedal with reversed cam/beater. Not bad. Stock head was mediocre, changed to Remo Emperor. Some unique tuning, damping and careful tweaking of the floor tom generally rectified the flatness issue (if you go live with this kit, mic the kick). I use a Snareweight on the snare – good to go, sounds spot-on. Overall, great, totally transportable set. Pretty fun to play. Tama hardware is stellar. I added a couple of Tama mini steel Tymps (10, 12) to the mix for some new sound options. Along with a Zildjian City pack and some extra A-Series (16, 17, 18 and 10″ splash), versatile set-up. Definitely recommend for transportability, good sound with relatively inexpensive mods, solid practice set, limited ‘coffee shop’ live play etc. Good on Tama for developing this twist on Cocktail drums. Fun! Also, there are ~one million videos and reviews of this set on YouTube. They showcase what this kit can and can’t do/what it is and what it isn’t. Hope this helps- all the best. A ‘GK’ R

This little kit sounds better than most of the smaller “travel” kits I’ve heard, and it sounds amazing mic’d up! We use this kit every Sunday in set up and teardown church services in a movie theater.

I originally ordered the mini kit and it was just too high pitched for me. I didn’t know the difference between the mini kit and the regular one. There is a 2 inch difference with the size of the drums. This kit is perfect. I love this sound over the mini kit. It has a much bigger sound. The hardware is very sturdy. The mini has just 2 support bars and the regular kit has 3 support bars. The kick drum comes with an actual kick drum head. Not just a regular floor tom head. The pedal feels just ok. I may see if I can find another foot pedal with a better feel. I wonder if I can take a regular pedal and just flip the beater around. All around, it’s an awesome kit and I’d buy it again!

The kit has a better sound than I expected. I have purchased a few extra cymbal clamps to go with the kit, but I am happy with the purchase even if the kit was somewhat pricey. I have enjoyed trying a bunch of different configurations and even included a tom from another full kit to round out the sound. There are some limitation in placement of the floor tom in comparison to a full kit, but worth it for the advantages you get in portability and footprint.
