This was not stated on the description..
It has plenty of room for my mouse and electric cables and transformer.

the shoulder strap is comfortable and is reasonably sturdy (plastic)…
note: strap clips always break at some time.. so it is a matter of time on that.

This is an affordable, lightweight, flexible, water resistant bag for carrying my Lenovo 17 inch laptop. I like its fabric and light weight and the way my laptop slips easily into the case. I can carry it either in my hand or over my shoulder. I wish it had better pockets for cords, battery pack, wireless mouse etc, but cannot imagine how a case of this design could do anything different. It does hold these things and more but it makes it a little bit bulky. Since it is slim, these items will of course bulk it up. Nice case in any case. Glad I bought it.

I would say “souped up notebook sleeve” It has handles, a roomy front pocket with a clip inside, and straps
I have a 17in Gateway FX and it fits perfectly. I could add a few more flat objects (like papers and a folder or two or 2-3 magazines), but not an ac adapter.
My only complaint is that when I carry around the laptop in my bag, the handles feel a bit strained and sorta/maybe feels like it may rip, but it is very sturdy and durable, definitely good construction or materials quality
But I wouldn’t be carrying this out everywhere.But if I used the straps, then the it seems better, even though the links from the strap to sleeve are plastic, it seems to be more strong than using the handles. But my laptop is pretty heavy–around 10 pounds, so that is probably one factor in that opinion.
I’d recommend it to anyone what wants a superb notebook sleeve for a moderate price. It is definitely a purchase that you would never regret–the pockets (inside the case and outside) are just perfect so to say (but not entirely perfect). It is definitely worth more than what amazon is offering.

Lightweight, attractive, slip case which carries a 17 inch notebook and accessories such as power cord, pens, pencils, PDA, and cell phone at a very reasonable price. Excellent hardware, namely the carry strap and the metal connections to the case. Does not look or weigh like a piece of luggage. Can also be used as a hand held portfolio. I have researched all the cases available on the Internet and for my purposes, this is the best one and the most reasonable. It is not bulletproof so if you want something that will protect your notebook from a ten foot fall unto concrete this is not for you.

This case is developing holes in the bottom. I assume it’s from the corners of my laptop. I would expect a bag like this to last for years and I’m not sure it’s going to make one year.

I recently purchased this for my new HP 17″ notebook. While the computer fits nicely, I was surprised to discover how soft the interior and exterior were. I felt as if my computer was (in a sense) wrapped in a sock. While the fit was snug and comfortable, I didn’t feel that the case, itself, offered much protection..hard to explain. My computer just felt “vulnerable”. I was also disappointed at how just about the only thing you can fit into the case IS your computer. If you wanted to add accessories (a mouse, AC adapter, etc.) it would make for one bulky and awkward-looking “package”. Best to just use it for your computer and have something else to carry your other essentials in (I’m using an old soft camcorder bag to store my other items). This, of course, may prove different for anyone with computer screens 15″ or less.
All in all, not a bad purchase, but I wish it felt sturdier and roomier.

My son wanted his 17 inch laptop carrying case before he moved to UC Davis for his junior quarter. He previously bought his 15 inch laptop case from Amazon. I trusted his judgement in reviewing the Targus CVR217 laptop bag before making decision to purchase.
The bag was nice and both he and I liked it. It is light and fits very well on his HP laptop. No bells and whistles and that is what I liked. Price was very attractive.
I recommend this bag to those who want a well made, inexpensive and a good bag for their 17 inch laptop.

For 2 weeks I searched all over town for a bag for my 17″ laptop. No retail store had them […] ! So I checked good ole Amazon, and here could be found the full line of Targus cases. Now, I don’t go out very often with my computer since I’m not willing to pay extra to get on the internet outside of home (even at Starbucks), but when I do this case is perfect for my use, and I was so surprised at the price! That made it easy to purchase, and even at standard shipping, I ordered it on Friday night and I got the case Monday morning!
If you are a businessman who takes your computer to the airport often I would recommend something a little more durable with a hard case. And prepare to spend […] since your computer needs bump-proof protection.
But for the occasional traveler or one who just wants to protect it in the car, this is the one for you. You will not find it in the stores, since 17″ is not the popular size, but Amazon got um!
