TENKER TENS Unit Muscle Stimulator

This tens massager (as you see in the picture) comes with four pages of sticky pads. This equals six square pads and two rectangle pads. There is an elongated direction booklet and a shorter informational one. It comes with a charger chord and the machine itself. There are two chords to plug into the machine with each chord having access to plug into two pads. So you can have four pads working at once. While there are similar tens machines that have a chord that connects to four pads, I rarely have used it before (divided electricity) and one could say it’s nice that this one doesn’t come with it another thing to carry around. Once on the machine works with various settings and strengths. The only downside is that the two chords always work in concert on the same strength level so all four pads are always the same. Other machines provide an option to separate the two chords so two pads can be on a different level of strength than the other two. That being said I still give this five stars for sure and one could say it keeps it simple and easy.

In general I highly recommend tens machines. They are small and can help with physical therapy, preventative care, or just self care. They can be worn at various times throughout the day.

Ok, so my last unit was from 10 years ago, so I was elated to see how small the unit was. Very portable. Battery life is amazing. Easy to use, comfortable. What I liked most is that you don’t have to use both ports for it to work! Awesome buy!

This TENS unit is just as I remember it. I used one of these (a medical/professional grade unit) years ago during physical therapy sessions for my legs after an accident. They started me at 5-10 minute sessions and worked up to 25-30 minutes, which ended up being a nice massage/break from my other PT exercises.

This unit is smaller than those but feels the same in terms of effectiveness. Granted, technology has advanced since then too so I’d imagine this new one is equivalent.

If you’re just beginning a 10 minute session gives a nice work out feeling to your muscles and I’d probably start there. It has a built in timer (can set between 10-60 minutes) so you can set the time you want and then it’ll turn itself off when time is up. It doesn’t take a lot of intensity to start to feel the effect either. On most parts of my body, setting of 5-6 is enough to feel it pretty good. Other parts need a setting of 10-12. This TENS unit goes up to 20 I think?

There are 6 selectable main modes that have 4 sub-modes with different effects or rhythms. The product’s instruction manual explains what each setting or mode does. Some settings create a more pin pointed feeling than others that are more of a wide spread feeling.

The instruction pamphlet also includes visual examples of where to place the pads for relief from specific pain or aches. But pretty much anywhere you ache you can target. But don’t let your intrusive thoughts take over, common sense (and the user manual) tells you there are still areas you should not place these things on or around, lol.

This unit includes 6 small (2”) square pads and 2 (2”x4”) rectangle pads. They are a gel type adhesive that are reusable and should continue to stick for numerous sessions. Keep their clear plastic backings so you can put it back on when you’re done.

The longer your session the longer you’ll feel the muscle jelly or after effects of the session. Like doing a good workout.

Tip: make sure you turn off or at least turn down the intensity before removing a pad. Otherwise you will feel it in your thumb/fingers and hand. Ask me how I know, haha! Like grabbing an electric fence…

What’s in the box:
The actual TENS unit (about the size of an old iPod mini). With an IP22 rating, it certainly is not waterproof but that’s ok, I don’t think you’ll be using this in or around a pool. But it does feel pretty durable for its size. It has a built in rechargeable battery that uses a common micro USB cable to charge. However, it does not come with wall charger, which everyone probably has several of already anyway. Two leads with two attachment points each (total of four) for the pads. 6 square pads, 2 rectangle pads as well as a small carrying/travel bag for everything.

Battery:
There’s no mention of length of charge or capacity of the battery that I could find in the manual. I have used it a few times already though and have not needed to recharge the unit yet. And the battery still shows a full charge.

Overall this is a worthy purchase if you are dealing with any sort of light muscle and/or nerve issues. It may even help calm down your muscles if you are having trouble with spasms or cramping too. I’d probably double check with your own doctor though before self diagnosing. I’ll probably use this on my sore muscles the majority of the time but I may have to try some of these safe/funny party games I keep seeing online with people trying to drink water while this is attached to their arm!

This cute little purple tens unit works well and helps with my back pain. It is easy to use and fits in my pocket so I can walk around and do things while using it. I like the many different options for types of “shocks.” It doesn’t hurt, but definitely helps get rid of knots and relaxes tight muscles that are causing the pain. A couple drops of water on the pads refreshes them so they can be used many times. The charge lasts for many uses. A great little product.
