The Drop Perla Shaped Waist Mini Dress

As fun summer LBD go this has it all. Just the right weight of fabric to be comfortable but I’m not worried about snagging, tearing or it being see through when it gets wet. Construction is great, IT HAS POCKETS!!! Side zipper with hook and eye, it’s everything I want… if only it fit me! My torso is just too long and my bust to small to really pull this off. If I pull the adjustable straps up enough I feel covered the waist is too high, if the waist is right it’s too loose at the top to wear outside of the bedroom. So many great things about this dress… but it’s not for me.

i might have actually worn this dress in the 80s … except in a solid color. somehow i missed the part about it being a print, i don’t hate it i was just really surprised. i thought it was just a soft solid pink but in reality it is a bit more of a pink white acid wash. the fit is almost as expected. curvy girls rejoice … especially bustier ones because this dress is made with you in mind. it’s fun and cute – good for a theme party or just for just a day / evening night out when you want to throw on a retro look. you can dress it up with a cute pair of sandals but it will also look super cute with a pair of pull-on sneakers or high-tops and jean jacket. it’s an easy dress to have some fun with in the spring and summer.

While I like this dress, I’m not 100% on it. The structure of the dress is decent, but the fit is just a little off on me and it makes me look a little juvenile with the pattern. The pattern in the photos looks a little more like a subtle floral, but in person, it looks more like a pinky acid-wash kind of design and the floral is less distinct. I think this would be perfect for someone in their teens, but it looks a bit too young to be flattering on anyone in their 20’s and up. I’m 5’4 and 110lbs and I ordered the XS which fits my waist okay, it’s just more of a teen style than what I thought it would be.

I was on the cusp of large and was initially going to get a medium, until I read the reviews saying to size up. I’m not saying that a medium would have definitely worked because I think this dress just has really flawed construction.

The straps come in too far. They won’t match up with a bra, so you’ll have to wear it without one or go strapless. If you get it snug enough then no bra should be fine because the material is thick. There is a very stretchy back, so there is absolutely no reason to size up. There is too much material in the front and at the top on the sides. However, it was still semi snug to zip up. but the back does stretch so if you have help, then I don’t think it would be an issue. I think if you have sewing skills, you could take in the sides to make it fit better and make the straps sit better on the shoulders. Only then would this dress fit me properly. So to those saying the bust is too small, I think it just doesn’t fit right, but not because it’s small. The bodice point also comes down low and the sides high; thus the material sticks out almost like an empire dress that makes you look fat/pregnant. This is also why you shouldn’t size up because then you’ll have too much material and that look will be accentuated.

I’m on the very cusp of the size chart for large in bust and waist. I wear a 34E bra. I have slightly larger hips around 41inches. I’m 5’10”.

I will say that the color is GORGEOUS and the material is EXCELLENT. The color is almost a shimmering or satiny navy though it is neither satin nor does it have sparkles. The quality of the cotton is fantastic. It’s heavyweight, but not heavy feeling. The length is appropriate and not too short at all. And they’ve included straps that you can adjust. This dress should be perfect and awesome, but for me it just falls short. The price is currently $69.90. I can see why it is expensive because of the fabric, but I think they need to redo the bodice to make it fit better and to make it more flattering.
