I like the concept but. We must be the odd ones given other reviews but after playing for about ten minutes we moved to other options. It hasn’t come back out and we are big game and puzzle people.

We love Genius Square, so decided to get Genius Star. It’s definitely harder, but is a fun challenge. Our 7 year old loves both of the games and it’s often out on the table to play a few quick games before school.
You can play alone or with two people. Great for fun, quick challenges!

I own & love Genius Square so I had to purchase this game even though I am told that it is harder than Genius Square. I personally thought that the directions were well explained & that the game was easy to learn. I heard that it took about 20 minutes to play this game during a demo on youtube; however, I can play some of the games in under 10 minutes depending on the roll of the dice & how hard that particular game is. While all games are supposedly solvable, I have come across the occasional game that I could not solve. It would be nice if you could go to the web site to get the solution since there are no solutions that come with the game. You can go to the web site to get random numbers that will allow you to have all of the blockers to play with the Gold Star ensuring a solution.
I love pattern recognition games like this. The game is very enjoyable & rewarding when the puzzle is solved. The game is well made. Both the blockers & colored pieces needed to play are easy for a senior citizen to handle. The printed numbers on the playing board are large enough to easily be seen.
While I cannot speak as to the ease of play for children of certain age groups, I can say that adults would like this game. This game would make a nice gift.
