I’ve bought numerous watches over the years, and could never find one that fit my needs exactly: that one didn’t have a digital watch-face, this one’s band was too thick, and another one’s watch-face was just too big. I would buy another watch in about 2-3 months because I wasn’t able to find something that consistently worked for me AND fit my price range.
This was about the 5th or 6th time I was buying a watch in a year, and I was more than ready to be done with watch-shopping. So, hearing good things about Timex from several friends, I decided to give yet another watch (this time a more trusted brand) a chance. And boy, am I glad I did.
I have been SO impressed by this Marathon. The watch band is neither too small or big, and the watch face is small enough that it doesn’t dig into my arm if I bend my wrist.
I’ve almost never taken the watch off in the time since I bought it, and it’s none the worse for wear. It’s come with me multiple times in the shower, a pool, and even a lake, perfectly keeping time after each. The battery has never stopped or malfunctioned either, something I’ve experienced with countless other digital watches.
One important thing to note: The owner’s manual (which can be found here: http://assets.timex.com/manual/W-292.pdf ) says you should NOT press any of the timer/set-up/indiglo buttons while in water. Because I followed this advice, my watch has continued to work after being underwater. Use common sense!
I also love the alarm and glow-in-the-dark features. What better way to wake up than hear a friendly traditional beeping noise and shove your glowing watch in your face to make sure you haven’t lost your job because of tardiness? 😀 All jokes aside, the alarm noise is perfect if you need something loud to rouse a deep sleeper. Yes, it’s harsher than something you would find on a smartphone, but it works! And the glow-in-the-dark face is super handy.
In conclusion? There’s a reason Timex is a trusted brand. If you’re in the market for a new digital watch, look no further. You’ve found it!

I got this watch as a running prize in 2016. I absolutely loved it- light weight, goes with all my clothes, easy to read, timer works great, waterproof. Never took it off. Eventually, after about a year, it got a little scratched up (might of scratched it myself because I’m clumsy.) So I ordered another one. The second one succumbed to water about a year and a half later but I had a good run with it. I’m on my third now. So yeah, doesn’t last forever but I don’t care because it’s cheap and lasts long enough for the price and it’s a great everyday watch.

The band’s end didn’t stay tucked into its place so I somehow managed to use a rubber band to hold it in place. Then the band cracked a became shorter untill it came to pieces this happened within seven months.
My last watch almost never came off my hand for several years and the band is still whole…

i guess maybe marathon watches are small? it is quite tiny, even the strap is quite short, maybe it is for kids? i wasnt too careful selecting it. also kinda hard to change settings and things, havent read the instructions but doesnt seem intuitive. dont like how it beeps every time i select anything, hope there is a mute option.

I am a man with thin wrists. It’s tough to find a men’s watch that is not a ridiculously large impendiment to normal life.
So, I looked for a women watch. That’s when I learned than “women’s” watches can only come in pink or other similarly bright color.
After doing a couple of different sessions of unsuccessful searching I found this. It comes in grey! It fits my wrist. The functions are sensibly designed. You could operate this watch without the instructions. It’s sturdy and “waterproof”.
If you go deep sea diving, or push buttons under water, you deserve a broken watch. Works fine in the shower and swimming.

I ordered this watch on 10/05/15 and the strap finally broke today on 12/21/17. I swam, showered, and washed dishes countless times while wearing this watch and it still functions perfectly two years later. Though the paint is chipping off and the face is scratched it has been through many summer camps, been completely covered in mud, and dropped countless times, proving its increadible resilience. As the photos show, the band sharted cracking about two months before it became unwearable. I will be buying another to replace mine and I plan on getting the same one again. It is truely a good purchase and a very comfortable watch to wear without fear of damage.

Honestly, I have been using this style and model of watch for like ten years and I have zero complaints. I am a paramedic, so having something with the date, day of the week, timer function is pretty important for me. This watch is easy to use, overall very durable for the price. I have gone through several over the years, usually after about 2-3 years the watch strap will eventually give way due to excessive wear (I never take my watch off), and I just buy another watch exactly like it. Never had a battery run out, never had the watch drown. If you want a simple, reliable watch, look no further!

I already had one of these watches but had misplaced it and just thought “Hey, for this price I’ll just buy another one!”. As fate would have it, I found the original watch 2 days after getting the new one but no big deal. The first watch had some pink on it and the new watch is all grey and silver. These are very dependable watches and I think they look great too. I am not someone that spends a great deal of money on accessories anyway so these watches are perfect. Hey – it’s a Timex! Takes a licking and keeps on ticking! Would buy again in a skinny minute. For the record, I am a 67 year old female if that makes any difference.

Watch is less than two months old, and as other reviewers have noted unfortunately, it’s water resistance is absolutely terrible. It is rated for 50M depth, which means swimming is OK. As you can see however, water got into it and destroyed the watch.
The best part is the warranty is so stupid that you have to pay $12 US handling fee plus shipping costs to somewhere in the US, if you want it repaired or replaced. That would actually cost more than if I purchased a new one! How does it make any sense to charge the customer a fee to process a warranty claim?!
Compared to other good brands like Casio, Armitron or Lorus, all of whom have Service centres in Canada and charge either no fee, or a much smaller fee to process a warranty claim.
This is the last Timex I will buy. Their quality has completely gone down the drain, compared to their watches from years ago.
