I’m very pleased with this switch. It’s one of the few companies left that put the RJ45 ports on the BACKSIDE where they belong. There is no valid reason to have them on the front unless you are using rackmount (which thus is clearly not used for). LED’s are informative and easy to read. And the footprint for 8 extra points is very small. The metal enclosure is a smart design to help dissipate any heat build up. Would definitely recommend.

Great little switch, fit perfect for our application. I need access so itโs in a cubby on my main desk, but thereโs a false back so I can swap cables with little disruption. Take a small power cable that goes to a medium size power brick. Moderately bright lights for status. The best part all the cables are in the back, ports for cables. So many switches now have front power plugs. This makes for a horrible installation imho. Best to keep all your cables on the same side, this also makes sense from a noise isolation stand standpoint. Great switch, easy as it comes to setup and has a great support plan included. They warranty the unit itself for life, you wonโt need to use that warranty. These things once they work will work for 10-20 years if left undisturbed. Donโt over think it. Speeds are as advertised. Iโd buy another one. Metal case with a small footprint as well.

Needed a small switch so that more of my audio/video equipment could utilize hardwired Ethernet rather than WiFi. Fits perfect under my TV into a in-wall entertainment center to service my Sony TV, AppleTV, PlayStation, and soundbar with ports available for other Ethernet devices.

It works great. Love that the wires are on the backside and the lights are on the front side. It looks clean that way.

This is a great switch at a great price. The unit is small, so it does not take up a lot of space. Nic that the cable ports are in the back which allows a cleaner installation. Works well!

great product quality and fast speed

Power connection and network ports are all on the back of the unit, making cabling neater. Port order on the back matches lights order on the front rather than being reversed; a nice touch. Nice solid case with some weight to it so it doesn’t shift around on the desk. Stays cool in operation. Tested throughput with iperf3; theoretical max throughput for an unmanaged gigabit switch is about 940 Mbits/sec, and I consistently see 936-937 Mbits/sec through this switch. Core chip is a Realtek RTL8370N, which is used in a lot of devices at this level across manufacturers. For $21, nothing to dislike here.

Well, Internet provider (frontier, ugh) upgraded the router to an Eero (yeah, I had never heard of it as well), which only has one ethernet port (the previous one had 5), and I had multiple things wired up so, off to buy a switch.
Now, I didn’t do packet-snooping, stress testing, etc so if you are looking for that, sorry.
Switch is an 8 port switch with jacks in the back of the unit, which is what my main factor was (this sits in a cubby-hole and I wanted a clean look). Further, the power jack is also in the back (there is another brand out there that had it in the side, that’s just dumb).
Lights on the front are only one color, but do blink with network activity on each port. There is not a dual light to tell you if you got 100 mbs or 1 Gbps connection, but IMO that wasn’t a show stopper. I can look at the ethernet settings on the laptop to confirm it hooked up at 1 gpbs.
Trendnet is a lifetime product, which is unheard of most of the time.
The unit runs cool as well, even without a fan integrated into it.
All in all, it is a good, basic, simple switch.
