Bought this while traveling last month. Most of the hotels I stayed at didn’t really have doors that this worked on but it has added security to my doors at home. I live in a townhome with front and rear entrances and this offers security beyond just a deadbolt that make it worth the money. I’d just look for other brands if the plan is to use it mainly in hotels.

The door lock is amazing and worked very well at home. But when we stayed at a hotel recently I did not realize the door did not have the minimum gap between the door and frame (honestly it completely slipped my mind) and the hotel door had a black edge tape which looked like a space in low light. I installed the lock at night with a little push. In the morning when i tried to open the door I realized I had been locked in, the lock got jammed and I was not able to open the door. Luckily we were three of us in the room so as I nudged the lock my husband pulled the door. After 45 mins we were able to open the door. It was a nightmare!! While the lock is great but please beware it is not suitable for all doors. Hope this helps!

I recently purchased this portable door lock and I am extremely impressed. It is lightweight, small, and very easy to pack, making it perfect for travel or for added security in any location. This would be great for hotel rooms and when renting a vacation home.
Installing the lock was a breeze, simply sliding it into place on the door where there is a gap between the locking latch and door. The lock securely holds the door closed, providing peace of mind and added security.
I love how compact and easy to use this lock is, and I feel much safer knowing I can easily secure any inward-swinging door with it. It does not work with outward-swinging doors. It is also important to note that this lock will only work on doors with gaps between the locking latch and door. If you have a tight fitting door with no gaps, this lock may not be suitable for your needs.
Overall, I highly recommend this portable door lock for anyone looking for added security on the go or at home. It is a great investment for peace of mind and easy to use in any situation.

I purchased this for ten dollars on Amazon. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much for the price. I was very surprised when I got this in the mail and tested it out. It isn’t hard to use, but you do need to be sure you get the little lip on the edge in the door latch properly. Once you do that just tighten down on the wingnut until it’s hand tight. It works great. I’ve seen lots of complaints on this item for not including the silicon pads. The one I received came with two pads one of the short screw and one for the other side which has the flat part that compressed against the door trim as you tighten the wing nut. As opposed to a door jam, this doesn’t allow the door to open even one inch if installed properly. For ten dollars this is a very good solution to keep people out. As long as you have a door that opens inwards this should work perfectly.

Why spend an average $50 on a door knob that locks for an internal door when this invention exists?! And having this on an external door just adds a-whole-nother level of added security. It’s size and construction may look dainty, but this security lock is deceptively strong 💪. The engineering in the design is perfect for almost every door🚪with or without trim around the door. It requires ZERO additional hardware to install. If you can twist the adjustable threads simply a quarter turn over hand tight, then you CAN install it. The added security from the design not only prevents the door from being pried or kicked in, but the way it puts your mind at ease that you’ve made your home safer when you’re home alone, or are disabled, or for children home alone, and the piece of mind that gives back is priceless! So easy to install a child or persons with disabilities can install. I speak from personal experience. I had an attempted break in, just 2 weeks prior to getting this and luckily they weren’t able to succeed. Adding this simple security measure removes worry from illegal or unwanted entry, and gives you time to call for help and critical time for that help to arrive. The stability, portability, and ease of removal all make it easy to have one on the go for traveling, staying at friends, family, Air BnB, and hotel/motels. Great gift idea for Mother’s and Father’s Day, stocking stuffer, for the person who travels a lot, and for anyone who wants the added privacy for a door that doesn’t already have a lock as well.

This worked on numerous hotel doors and really helped me sleep at night. Never felt so secure in a hotel room before and it’s so small and easy to keep with you. Absolutely worth every penny!

Due to how solid the unit is, the device actually stops my house door from closing as the gap isn’t large enough, and the first hotel I have tried to use it in the door cannot snib as the device is holding the door mechanism from going into the wall plate. The adjustment and rubber feet make me feel like when the door I’m using fits this device it will do a good job, but until then I’m left with something that keeps getting me additional screening at the airport.

The doorstop worked well, the window alarm works well and the door lock works on some doors, but not others. Overall, this is a good kit for travelers.
