Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Hyper Foam Wheel Cleaner 53734

I detail as a career and I am constantly testing products that can assist me in doing a better job. I bought this smaller bottle to test out on my own car. My wheels/tires were dirty but not neglected. Tires are always a trouble area for me though. Some wheel/tire cleaners over clean (make tires turn brown) or don’t touch old tire dressings. This product left me with a bare tire, and no browning. It cleaned the wheels easily and I even used the cleaner on the wheel wells with a woolie to agitate. It’s not a spray and rinse product, but not many are.

Now I will be grabbing the larger size and trying it in an ik foamer. That will definitely help speed things up. If you can’t get a foamer, pick up a foaming trigger sprayer if you go for the gallon size.

I will come back to this and update on how it cleans some neglected wheels (and brown continentals.) But so far it cleans as good as nanoskin non-acid and better than meguiars non acid. What it does more than both of those is how much better it is on tires and the corrosion resistant polymer it leaves behind on your rotors/calipers/lugs.

I was a little skeptical that the Turtle Wax wheel cleaner would be as effective as the marketing information implied. Boy! Was my skepticism misplaced and unwarranted. After reading the directions a couple of times, to ensure I clearly understood them, I applied the product to one wheel on my ’92 BMW. The car’s wheels have never been cleaned with any wheel cleaner: I preferred to use soap and water. I last cleaned (using soap and water) the wheels about 3 weeks before trying the Turtle Wax HyperFoam Wheel Cleaner: living in the Seattle area in Feb. – March, one can only imagine how dirty the wheels had become. After washing and drying the vehicle, I turned my attention to each wheel. I applied the Turtle Wax HyperFoam Wheel Cleaner as directed, agitated the tire and wheel and then dried both the tire and wheel using a cotton towel. The Turtle Wax HyperFoam Wheel Cleaner was so effective that each wheel looked cleaner than when I purchased the car in 1992! This ‘stuff’ is phenomenal and works better than advertised! A few weeks later, I applied the Turtle Wax HyperFoam Wheel Cleaner to the tires and wheels on my BMW M6 with the same results! Today, about 2 weeks after applying the Turtle Wax HyperFoam Wheel Cleaner, I performed a quick detail on the M6 and had to do absolutely nothing to the wheels or tires … this was after 2 weeks of on again, off again rain. I do not know enough positive adjectives to describe how happy I am with this product; how easy it is to use and the quality and durability of the hybrid solution contained within.

Let me start off with the pros. This is a great wheel and tire cleaner, and is well thought out in its development. The product goes on even, turns a fun purple color to show the cleaning action, and rinses clean. When drying my wheels and tires after using this and a brush, the drying towel was still clean, zero dirt left over. As a cleaner it is fantastic. I also think this performs better than the products it is attempting to mimic (Adams and P&S Brakebuster).

Here’s the catch though…..

This product has the same initial/main ingredients as the Turtle Wax Wheel and Tire Cleaner in the green bottle. This product is $13 vs the green bottle that averages under $4 at your local Wally World. The OG green bottle cleans just as well as this product, it just doesn’t turn a fancy purple color or provide a perceived layer of protection.

This is not a knock on Turtle Wax, as I support this company fully and use many of their products. My theory is that a few years ago the company started making great products at a very affordable price (Wheel and Tire Cleaner, MAX Wash, ICE Spray Wax, and arguably the best value product in detailing there is, Seal N Shine).

However, due to human nature and marketing, many people did not give these products the credit they deserve because they weren’t boutique and overpriced. Now that TW got their chemistry on point, they needed to up the marketing machine and charge way more for products. Do this and VOILA! Now they are reputable.

If you want to be the envy of your detailing forum buddies and get that sweet internet approval, buy this product. If you want to save some cash and buy 4 bottles of something that works just as great, get the green bottle.

This is by far the best Wheel and Tire cleaner I have used to date. Easy to use, spray on, wipe, and rinse off, your tires are clean! Really!

This stuff is amazing for your wheels I wouldn’t hesitate to use it again

I used it along with turtle wax graphene tyre shine hence the tyres are also very nice and glossy. But do focus the alloys too they are shining and totally clean. Brake dust, gone. Water spots, gone. Rusting on nuts, gone. Tyre browning and dirt, gone. All 4 tyres cleaned in a matter of 20 minutes. Turtle wax products are just amazing. They advertise that they offer some protection as well and dirt and dust should stick less on the wheels.
