This bird feeder was extremely expensive, difficult to clean, not sturdy at all, kept falling apart! I will be returning it…it is not at all what the description said it would be…very disappointing

We find this fairly easy to fill. Using safflower seeds and dried meal worms we have brought wrens, cardinals, titmice, woodpeckers, chickadees, catbirds and Eastern bluebirds to the yard. Grease the pole with Vaseline to ward off squirrels who can shimmy up the pole.

It does what it is suppose to do. Holds the seeds and provides a place for the birds to perch while eating. Elegant design and aesthetics and holds a good amount of seed. I had another similar one that the squirrels overrun and chewed through the plastic. I purchased this one because it looked like it was a little thicker, but plastic is quite thin. Fingers crossed on keeping the squirrels away but it is only a matter of time before they sniff out those delicious sunflower seeds.

This bird feeder is made of plastic and appears to be cheap! Also it gravity feeds too much seed into the bottom tray. When a bird feeds most of the seed falls to the ground. The first day I put it up more than 50% of the seed was used. I am usually quite generous in my reviews, but with this product, I strongly do not recommend it.

This looks beautiful. I love how it looks, but the little posts that run up and down, they are always falling out. Also when filling with bird seed, the seed goes into the spot the top screws down on and then you cannot get the lid down without dumping it all out, which means fixing the spindles and refilling the thing while holding a finger over the spot the top slides into. It is a mess to deal with. I will be hot glueing the spindles in place as I don’t see a reason why they should not be stuck in place anyway. As to the filing issues, I don’t feel like driving over 30 minutes to the nearest UPS store to return, so I will just deal with it.

This is the worst bird feeder I’ve ever owned. It’s a bad design that’s cheaply made from crappy plastic. The listing said it was durable copper metal, but it’s not. It’s copper-colored plastic and broke in the first 24 hrs of being out in our yard. Squirrels chewed it up pretty badly around the top and the slim cylindrical pieces that go down each side immediately broke and are just dangling from the feeder. Even if it were made of metal, the design is hella annoying. When you slide the lid up to fill the feeder with seeds, it exposes a hollow cylindrical section meant for holding the lid down into place, but there’s no way of pouring seeds into the feeder without stopped up this mechanism, therefore you have to clean it out after filling it in order to secure the lid back down into place. So the whole process just takes forever and it’s a really frustrating ordeal. What a waste of money.

Described as metal and plastic. It is plastic and metal. That means, mostly plastic. It is supposed to have four support poles between the top and the bottom. They are pliable plastic and wholly decorative, further, the feeder I received has only three of them and empty slots where the 4th should be.
The inner metal cage that holds the bird seed seems sturdy and is holding the black oil sunflower seeds I poured in. The feeder is very lightweight even when filled with seed. It has a sturdy, multi-strand wire hanging card and hangs securely. I am optimistic that the bird feeder will survive most of the winter. I guess that’s all that can be expected at this price point.

I loved this feeder and so did the birds. The only type of bird that I didn’t see on it was a blue jay which was ok. Easy to refill and clean. Very sturdy product!
