The media could not be loaded.
Wondered why the reel was left loosely in the box and not attached to the rod. This is the first issue. Broken reel completely second is the attachments to where the rod attachees to the next peice. Broken. Only thing that seems not touched/abused was the tackle 1 star review for this

The Ugly Stik is a fantastic, strong rod that’s very hard to break. It’s responsive and easy to use. This would be 5 stars if not for the reel in the combo, which simply wasn’t good. Maybe I got a lemon, I usually like Shakespeare’s mid-tier reels but this one backlashed once and after fixing that the next fish popped the reel. I’ve not had that happen before, the top came off, the bottom of the assembly snapped, and I brought the fish in hand-over-hand. It was just under 2lbs, a nice little white bass. But still… a 2lb fish utterly destroyed the reel.
If you can snag this for under $20, the rod alone is worth it. The rod is absolutely wonderful to use and I can’t recommend it enough for the majority of freshwater fishing.

Best fishing rod for the price! Easy to set up, cast, and fish. Has lasted after multiple casts and catches. It’s the perfect rod as a first rod or a back up or a quick fishing trip. Can’t go wrong with this product!

I’m not experienced in fishing but this pole has made it very easy to learn. I love the color of the pole it looks just like the image. It’s also extremely durable. The size and performance is outstanding for the price, i highly recommend this brand.

Needed a new rod/reel combo and ended up going with this one. I loved the purple as it’s one of my favorite colors. Light weight, durable, easy to use. Have had no problems to fish for catfish. Will definitely buy again.

The fishing line on this rod is a hot mess. We needed to respool it after just an hour of use. It’s not spooled correctly and it’s very frustrating not to be able to use this out of the box. Color is nice though for a woman.
