The velcro straps need to be very tight and even then, will require constant attention and readjustment. They loosen causing the shoe to slip off your boots and present a tripping hazard.
The package did not come with all parts as indicated on packaging (missing the spade which I assume is to aid in cleaning dirt clod from between the spikes.

I’ll be honest, I got these as a 100% joke for my husband. He always complained that he just needed aerator shoes and our lawn would be perfect, so I saw these and ordered them. Well…..they actually have helped!!! He used these before he fertilized and it did seem to take better than last year. These attach and strap to your tennis shoes and they’re actually quite stable. They never once slipped or came off and he was able to do our whole front and back yards without any issues. He did try these with a couple of different shoes for variety, and his recommendation would be to NOT use a bulky shoe as the velcro started to slide. These are definitely a keeper! The spikes are metal so just take extra care if accidently stepping onto concrete.

These are so easy to use, just put them on and start walking! We have rock but these were tough enough to for our dirt/grass!

I’ve been letting my son earn some extra chore money by caring for the lawn this year. He’s been using these US: E Lawn Aerator Shoes to slowly aerate our entire property (about an acre) and they’ve proven a simple but sturdy method. The hook & loop straps and adjustable laces ensure a snug fit, which means you can easily walk around comfortably without them slipping off, even if your ground is extra wet or hardpacked. The spikes are robust and penetrate the soil effectively, which is essential for proper aeration. They come with a stainless steel shovel, loving called the Owl Trowel at our house, which is a handy addition for digging up rocks and other hard debris.
The overall design is practical, and the black color means they don’t show dirt easily. They’re not the most sophisticated lawn tool we own, but they get the job done with a minimal learning curve and almost no risk of my kid finding a way to screw the job up. They’re a good, no-frills option that is helping to improve the health of my grass without too much effort. I definitely don’t necessarily recommend this option for large areas of land like what we’re working with unless you also have a willing Child Labor Force or a desire for an intense leg day workout, but this is definitely a great tool for smaller areas and to aerate close to areas where pull-behind aerators can’t go.

Thought I’d save some $ doing it myself, but no go. After reading mixed reviews, figured I’d give it a try. All the negative reviews were right: Way too huge for average woman’s foot (slid around length AND width). Not able to secure straps tightly enough. Spikes not deep enough to be effective aerator. Couldn’t pull leg up out of lawn without them falling off. Ended up using them by hand to seed a few bald spots, but would not recommend. Waste of money (though might fit better on a big man?).
Edit: Seller reached out and stood behind their product, offering refund to make things right. Would purchase from them again.

It took me awhile to be able to try these out – I ordered these right before I found out I’d have to have heel surgery. Needless to say, this wasn’t something I felt confident about taking on for awhile.
These don’t really work for me, but it’s probably me, looking at the other reviews. Being a woman with smaller feet, it was a struggle. Whenever I have issues with a product, I go to the reviews to get troubleshooting tips, to see what I might be doing wrong, and ideas to help me get it right.
They’re just too big for my size 7 women’s foot, I tried. I have to deduct stars, because the listing says size 6 to 12: this should state MENS size 6 to 12, and should show this more clearly.
I can’t say I have a problem with anything else, just can’t really get that far because I can’t use them optimally.

They work, but they don’t stay in place very long. You have to stop and put them back in place often

I’m not a big guy, and I don’t weigh much (168 pounds), so I am not having the durability issues others are reporting. Over an average non-hardened lawn, these work just fine for someone around my weight and probably still up to 180/190 pounds. The issue I was having is that they are made for something like a size 15 foot with very little adjustability on the straps. If you don’t have big meat feet, then you will have a bad time because the toe straps will constantly slip, and your heel will slip from the back every time if you do not lift your foot straight up–as in if you walk using a normal human stride, you will be tripping all over yourself and might even be lucky enough to aerate one foot with the other. What fun.
Jokes and concerns aside, I was able to slowly but surely walk all over my front lawn (this was a little over a month ago when temperatures were somewhat sane) and poke a bunch of holes in the dirt. The soil was a little moist, and the spikes gathered clumps of dirt. But that was more of a visual/cosmetic issue. Even with the clumps of dirt, the spikes are long enough to stick out well beyond the bed of clumps right below the base of the shoe, and you can aerate away assuming you can keep these on your feet.
I was able to request and get these aerator shoes for free from Amazon Vine, and I might look around if I needed another pair. As I said, they do work, but usability is horrendous. If you have big feet, then go right ahead. If you have average to small feet, then probably look elsewhere.
