I’ve bought this product before and have really enjoyed it. It’s the only plant based protien powder that tastes decent and goes down smooth. Well… it used to. This time when I purchased it, the powder was VERY gritty. It doesnt mix well and there are chunks that don’t dissolve. The taste was also off. I always buy the chocolate so I don’t have to mix it with anything, I can drink it straight and enjoy the taste. But the taste is more… earthy than before, and les chocolaty. And I can’t get past the chunks of orange stuff that won’t dissolve and are very crunchy! I’m disappointed.

The thing I like about this brand is how clean it is. There are no harmful elements to it, it’s completely organic and natural.
Their instructions on preparing it makes for it to be a bit strong. They also recommend using almond or some other non dairy or soy based milk. Personally, I like to make it with fresh whole milk from a local dairy. I’m not vegan, but I do have stomach issues that requires me to use meal replacement drinks on a regular basis.
The drinks are very filling, as long as you make it at a decent strength. Of course, you can make it really thick and strong, using less liquid but more powder.
When I first discovered this brand, I was in Whole Foods, prior to the takeover. They had reps from the company in there, offering samples of most of the flavors. The reps talked about how they added additional fruits, peanut butter, and other various things to make it more filling. I tried that, but to me, it altered the taste too much. I think if you have the chocolate flavor, peanut butter wouldn’t be too bad, but this flavor, Berry, it’s not just s good mix.
There is no discernible change in flavor or texture if you add other supplements, such as chia or flax. Before you make a blender full, do a test run with the various supplements, to make sure it tastes good.
They also taste good when blended with ice, as a frozen shake.

I’m a vegetarian and had been intermittent fasting: only eating between hours of noon-8pm. My doctor suggested this may be stressful for my brain and encouraged I have a vegan protein smoothie to support brain health in starting the day. I bought the sweetened version to avoid stevia and blend it with 12 oz unsweetened almond milk, half a banana, handful of frozen berries and handful of spinach. The banana helped to add some sweetness. I use a good old fashioned blender which takes care of most of the clumps but not all from the powder. With the other ingredients, I’m not getting a clear sense of what the powder tastes like but enough to say it has an earthy taste to it which I don’t mind. I’m going to try a different brand next because the price on this is higher than what appears to be a comparable product and I’m adding in my own fruits and veggies so don’t necessarily need the “all in one” product. Feedback for the company: would recommend not using “MA” as abbreviation for month in best before date. I didn’t know if this was March or May. Maybe this should be common knowledge but seems like it’s worth doing MAR for March and MAY for May to avoid confusion. Thank you!

I have been extremely skinny my entire life and struggling with gut dysbiosis for more a few years now from candida and bacterial overgrowth. I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits drastically and have still always struggled to metabolize food efficiently. I’ve completely cut out alcohol, coffee, “processed” sugars, and smoking out of my life and done a lot of work to heal the lining of my gut by increasing my protein and fiber intake with natural foods. But still no matter how much food I would eat it would all just get pooped out, my body wasnt absorbing much of the nutrients and I wasnt gaining any weight. I dont typically like protein powders because they make me feel icky and groggy.
Recently a nurse recommended Orgain protein powder and after reading the ingredients thought I would give the fruity loops flavor a try and my body tolerated it pretty well but it only contains protein and fiber, not really any micronutrients. So I looked on amazon for something that was similar that also met some of my vitamin and minerals needs and that’s how I discovered Vega protein powder. Each serving has an excellent amount of protein, fiber, and micronutrients to boost dietary intake.
What really caught my attention to Vegas protein powder is the probiotic included on the ingredients list: Bacillus subtilis. I’ve never heard of a protein powder containing a probiotic and immediately started googling for information. Apparently studies show this strain aids in the metabolization of nutrients and can help with weight gain. According to google this strain helps strengthen the gut barrier, helps prevent inflammation, and fights off bad bacteria among other things. Go read for yourself! So I thought I definitely need to give this a try and ordered it.
It arrived overnight as promised by amazon shipping and as soon as it came in the mail I opened it and had two servings that day and a serving each day since it arrived. I’ve noticed that I my apatite has increased, I can eat larger meals throughout the day without having to force feed myself, my poops are noticeably smaller, and I have way more energy and concentration throughout the day. I even feel noticeably less depressed, my mood has improved drastically, and it’s easier to fall asleep at night. The dr weight me at 94lbs the day before my Vega powder arrived, so I am incredibly eager to see how much I weigh next time.
I personally am not particular about whether the protein is plant or animal based. I’ve tried plant based protein powders that made me feel just as icky as animal protein powders. This powder actually sooths my tummy in the mornings and boosts my apatite for the day.
I am so grateful to have found this protein powder and highly recommend to anyone who is struggling with depression and weight gain. It is a great addition to your diet and you will not regret it. However, it may be more effective when coupled with healthy lifestyle and diet improvements. If you smoke and drink and eat junk food you are only making this product work harder for you. It is not a meal replacement, you still need to eat regular healthy sources of food as well as exercise regularly for the best results. Good luck!
